Long story short he knows his stuff but he expects everyone to be as smart as he is; hes also kind of rude and is super nit picky when it comes to grading be prepared to redo the same assignment four times to end up with the same grade avoid if you can if your taking ecpk321 you are stuck because hes the only one who teachers it

Dr. Nelson required the use of an online portfolio for this course, and when I was having difficulty with it and asked him for help he responded very rudely and treated me as if I was stupid (the issues were beyond my control). I felt very disrespected by him and do not reccomend taking a course with him if you do not absolutely have to.

Nelson gives detailed requirements for each assignment and it's pretty cut and dry what you need to do for each assignment. He gives out a syllabus with explanations as well as a weekly calendar with due dates. Lectures are boring, but he's a really nice guy who wants you to LEARN, not just do well. He gives constructive feedback on work. Love him

Nelson is one of the most useless professors I have ever had. He is unclear with his expectations, changes assignment dates constantly, and does not respond to emails promptly if at all. His lectures are dull and do not aid in developing successful teaching skills. The only thing I have learned from him is what kind of teacher I don't want to be.

He was very confusing with assignments and when you asked he didn't clear up anything. I had a huge problem with him announcing grades in front of other students. I will be lucky if I pass this class. Unfortunately he is the only one who does this class...

He gives you a syllabus on the first day & that's literally all he'll ever tell you about assignments and requirements.He never reminds students of what is due, I missed so many assignments, b/c I didn't know about them.I worked SO hard to make them up and he never accepted them, because they were late. Sad part? He's the head of the department...

Everyone made him out to be some beast so I was nervous going to the class. He is not as bad as people make him out to be. You have to work hard to get a good grade but he also will help you if you approach him. Wont pass if you dont try.

sucks...boring, has no idea what he is doing when he gets to class, makes things up as he goes and wanders off track for hours..will keep you til the last second of class every time. good luck if you have to take him...bring book, food, your computer, anything at all too keep you entertained cus its a long miserable time in his class

Had him for earlychildhood math. He is an awesome teacher. Gives great hands-on examples to use in a classroom. Lots of work, but he's a fair grader. I've learned a lot from him.

Greg's classes can be quite boring due to the fact of going over the same thing. You can do your homework during his classes and won't miss a thing. Attendence is mandatory and if you miss a class you owe 2 more written assignments on top of the assigned work. Is not clear what he wants on work. Not recommended but no choice if in the new major.

He knows what he's talking about. Boring class, don't expect to be making fun things out of construction paper like other intro to ed classes. A lot of papers mostly on your 40 hrs of observation. You need a good memory to take this class because he expects a lot of detail about your observations.

Really easy class not worth buying the book, haven't opened it yet and its the middle of the semester. No tests, however you do right a lot of papers. He loves detail, but thats so easy to add in. He's a strange guy, but whatever.
