He's definitely passionate about Biology and is a very clear and helpful teacher. The key to doing well in his class? GO TO HIS LECTURES. seriously. And copy what he says word for word. And go to SI sessions. His class is hard, but it's not impossible to get an A if you study a couple of days in advance.

Absolutely great teacher. Loves his field, and it shows. Take him seriously when he tells you the amount of work required for an A, as it is not exaggerated. Certainly not an easy class, but very educational.

This was one of the hardest classes I have ever had. He is very nit-picky and moves very fast. Be prepareded to take a lot of notes! Exams are crucial and you must devote all the time you can to studying and reading. If you get a good grade you have definitely earned it.

i DONT ADVICE ANYONE TO TAKE HIM. HE TRICKS YOU RATHER THAN TEST YOU. OTHERS LEAVE COMMENT ABOUT HOW GREAT HE IS AND YOU JUST HAVE TO STUDY TO PASS. THAT IS A BIG LIE. THE TESTS ARE IMPOSSIBLE....CLASS AVERAGES ARE ALWAYS BELOW 60%. WORST OF ALL IS THAT I DO UNDERSTAND THE MATERIAL BECAUSE I TOOK IB-BIOL IN HIGHSCHOOL BUT I ALWAY FAILED HIS TESTS

I think he is actually a good teacher, except for the fact that he wants you to fail his tests. Even if you know all of the material for a test, there is no guarantee that you are going to get above an 85. He gives a lot of useful notes, but they can only help you if you go to class!

Compared to stories I've heard about other biology teachers, I think I lucked out in getting Prof. Plunkett. His powerpoints are colorful and pretty interesting. He's just an overall good teacher!

Wow, tough class!!! Professor Plunkett is great though because he is very clear in his lectures, is willing to help, and lets his students know that they will have to work hard for a good grade in his class. Go to class, study frequently, DO NOT cram ;) Tests are difficult! Altogether though, thumbs up for Prof. Plunkett.

Plunkett is 1(out of 2) of my favorite VCU professors.He is straight forward and tells you early in the semester that if you are willing to study and work hard then you will do well in the class.He is really good at what he does and I am so glad I had him for Bio 151.He's also hilarious in a dry sort of way,if that helps. TAKE PLUNKETT!!!!
