I guess he's different at HCC because I've taken him for both levels of humanities and both went by smoothly. I will admit he's lazy with grading and is boring during lecture (cool dude outside of class however), but it's overall a very straightfoward class. Your only grades are four tests which you can't drop, but they're easy.

WORST TEACHER AT FSU THUS FAR. The useless class and his monotone voice makes it hard to want to attend class.

Though he is very knowledgable about this area, he has a degree in humanities. If you can see yourself sitting in class with ben stein as your teacher, by all means take him. I recommend sitting in the rear if you do that way you can sleep. Your grade consists of 2 test, attnd quizzes, and a paper. Unless you fully know the material, tests are hard

Dr. Thompson Urban Dev. grade consists of 2 tests, 1 paper, att., and some extra credit. tests consist of 15-20 short answer. gives decent review sheet. requires a good amount of studying but not tricky and if u know the review u should ace the test. class is fairly interesting and he is a nice guy. it wasn't too hard to get a B

Very easy class for the Shakespeare requirement. All the tests and qizzes are online. He gives extra credit. Tests are pretty easy because you can use your notes. Paper was fairly difficult but short. You have to go to class though.

A great teacher. I had a little more respect for Shakespeare after his class (although I still wouldn't pick up a random play for my own personal enjoyment). His attendeance policy is awful (attend every class for 3 extra points, one free absence, but then each absence costs a point) His choice plays were interesting, too.

Easy A but if you actually want a professor to stimulate and teach, not your choice. Easy weekly quizes sometimes copied verbatim from sparknotes quizes. Sit through class, listen to him yak...not for someone who wants to get the most out of Shakespeare. He's a slacker's wet dream.

Great Teacher. Very respectful and willing to help his students. He knows his stuff. I would take him again in a Heartbeat. He has impressed me more than ANYONE else in the English Dept. At FSU.

Very nice guy and a great professor. He knows the plays very well, and likes to hear his students talk. Also, is test are not all that hard, so if you read and showed up to class most of the time, then you'll do fantastic here. I will always remember him as one of the best professors at FSU, and I'll take another class with him in the future.

After taking ENL4333, I can honestly say he is a better teacher than Dr. O'Rourke. Very knowledgeable about the plays, lets the students engage in class discussions about the plays, and he doesn't try to undermind anyones opinion. The best English professor at FSU. I definately recommend him.

I didn't necessarily like the texts he chose, but his tests are very easy. Plus, he gives 5 whole points added on to your FINAL grade if you go to class everyday. He's a good teacher, I'm taking another one of his classes in fall.

It's not that the class is TOUGH, but it's definitely not SIMPLE. It's nice because you only cover the Imperialistic content of the books, so that cuts down on the normal literature class b.s. Anyway, Dr. Thompson is a nice guy and it's a lit credit...
