Taken Data Representation course under him. Didn't understand a single lecture. The class was very vague. Tough exams. Not worth it. Will never recommend anyone to take this class. Learned just computation with matrics nothing else

Took computer vision under him. Homework assignments every week which you have to just submit for full credit. Takes a pop up quiz almost every week. Monotonous lectures with no defined syllabus. The class seemed vague and didn't understand the subject even after completing the course. Good with grades though. Take him for good grades .

I took his AI and machine learning course. His class is always easy. Sometimes I think he is too talkative. He would spend a lot of time explaining some simple concept. Exams and projects are easy. Just pay attention, there are always some questions that are really tricky, but just a few points. In general, a piece of cake.

Not sure what others see in this guy.Concepts in class are discussed with no real idea of how they all relate.Homework solutions are not very detailed, and doesn't give enough time for his tests.And don't let the fact that all his tests are open book fool you, because it doesn't help you out much.Doesn't like questions-gets tripped up on his words.

The class was surprisingly easy, and the course content was very interesting. I loved that there was no textbook. Class notes are sufficient and allowed on exams. I can see how the concepts would be useful in a variety of careers. I would recommend it for an upper division CS elective.

I took 2 classes with Dr. S and an independent study. He's one of the best profs i've ever had. His classes will seem easy and fun, and you sometime don't even realize how much you happened to have learned. Teaches from multiple books/sources. Projects are fun!
