Draper is great. I took him for writing intensive and I had to read and write a ton but his feedback was awesome and he had a clear rubric. I learned so much and am a better writer because of him. The only way you could dislike this professor is if youre not willing to work. If you wont work in his classes you will do poorly.

An amazing government professor. The class was at first intimidating but once you figure out how he grades the class is relatively easy. I took his intro to American politics writing intensive course. He provides good feedback on papers and really helps develop your skills. Lets you out of class early most days and is good on pushing back due dates

Took his Intro to American Politics class. The class was interesting and the readings easy to follow there are a lot of books to read but the class itself wasn't too bad. However, he is a hard grader on papers and is very unclear on directions and randomly assigns due dates.

Best Govt professor at SLU. Taught me how to write a clear and concise paper. He ends class early often and is very humorous. He is certainly a democrat, but not biased towards other views whatsoever. Biggest downfall is that he is a New York Jets fan... Oh yeah, learn about horse racing before hand and he will love you.

Really tried to work in his class. Got off on the wrong foot no turning back. First couple days tried to attend meetings i scheduled and 3 times he did not show up. Every paper i handed in he did not accept. Did not revive any credit and instead of helping me, he told me to directly drop his course.

Draper knows all about his nickname. But really, he's not a paper raper. Don't really have to do the readings because he goes over everything in class and his exams are primarily lecture based. Definitely one of the core GOV professors at SLU.

Overall a good professor. He really likes what he is doing and that makes the class much more interesting. The only downside is he is a tough grader. Despite this I enjoyed his class and got a lot out of it

Draper is a good guy. He is liberal, which is the norm in our Gov department, and so is his book, which is the text, but he likes to have discussion of all kind. The nickname of "Paper Raper" is only because it rhymes. He is a tough grader but by no means as hard as other professors on this campus or even in the department.

Draper is probably one of the most intelligent profs on campus. He is really excited about the material he teaches, and despite his slightly high-pitched voice, he is really interesting to listen to. He expects a lot of creativity and originality with papers, but its worth it.

Really a great teacher. Studens who sit in the front row get the most out of his class. Lectures tend to follow HIS text book, so if you do the reading, the class can be very interesting! Soft-spoken and funny. Also, do you research on horse racing. He LOVES saratoga

A great professor that definetly knows his stuff. Heck, if you take American politics you'll learn from the textbook he wrote. Also known as Draper the Paper R@per. Spend time on those essays kiddos! Softspoken manner takes a little getting used to. Easy to get ahold of also- def. reccommended
