I had the privilege of having Dr. Hekmat for 2 classes his last year of teaching. He also wrote my recommendation for graduate school. He is one of the most brilliant people I have ever met. He has met and been personal friends with some of the most famous psychologists in our field. He made the understanding of psychology a natural science. Love!

This man is a wonderful teacher. He knows EVERYONE in the Psych world and is highly cited himself. His classes make you work hard to figure things out. Can be frustrating, but you walk away knowing you have learned more in 16 weeks, then you did in any other class. I am sorry to see you retire, Dr. Hekmat, you ROCK! Enjoy your new chapter in life.

This man is so smart and knows EVERYONE in the Psych field.Look in text books, he is cited everywhere. If you need structure, this Prof is not for you, however if you want to really learn at a graduate level take his classes.

I had Dr. Hekmat for Psych. 401 and I thought he was amazing. I learned so much from his temperament and knowledge. I am an older student and really appreciated his way of teaching!

Good prof, had abnormal, and 402 counsling with him. He has alot of good relevent stories based on his experiences as a counselor. Gives students the freedom to figure stuff out themselves. Can ramble about unrelated things, but it is the classes responsibility to get him back on track. Recommend for people who want freedom in their work.

Good teacher, I liked that we were given the responsibility to figure stuff out for ourselves. Has alot of relevant clinical experience, and I feel alot of applied knowledge can be gained in his stories. For those that want all the requirements written in stone, this guy isn't for you, for those who want to fgure stuff out yourselves, take dr. h.

One of the worst professors I've had - disorganized and useless. Students teach all of the material; he simply provides tangential information or sleeps/doodles. Completely unclear as to what he wants in regards to midterm. Nice man, brillian man...should not be teaching.
