Comment:
Ron is a great professor and was often lenient with grades. The class accelerates towards the middle of the semester, and you will most likely need to read the textbook or find online tutorials to understand topics discussed in class. While Ron is great, he lacks in making sure everyone understands the material 100%. He is a solid choice :)

Very helpful and gracious; I was sick during one of the week's that I had a lot of homework due and he allowed me to turn it in late, because he is understanding. I really appreciated that. I got a B in the class, I learned a lot from him. I was able to get a job that paid substantially more than my last job based on the information I learned.

Took for C# II. As with any online class, you're expected to solve most problems on your own. The material is straight-forward and responds to email with help! This professor keeps a very clear and organized Blackboard and frankly, I wish other professors would follow Prof. Burgher's style of using Blackboard.

Professor Burgher is very unorganized and un willing to help his students. He takes a long time to reply to any questions you have and also fails to grade some assignments claiming "he never received them".

Very helpful professor. Answers questions promptly. Makes videos and slides, even in response to questions. Sends out helpful announcements. Grading criteria is very clear. Gives useful feedback. I wish every online professor put in as much effort as this guy. Book chapters are long, expect to read hundreds of pages, and the book isn't great.

Ron's a nice guy, but a bad teacher. He glosses over important stuff, and if he doesn't know the answer to a question, he'll just BS you. He puts irrelevant, useless stuff into his lessons, and messes up the examples constantly. I'm glad I don't need his class for my major. No offense, but avoid this class.

Ron Rocks. I had him before and I would take him again. He knows his stuff and gives it to you in an easy way to understand. Since it was online, I used the text heavily and it was a great text. Emails early in the day will more than likely be replied to same day and is very easy to chat with.

A good CS teacher w/a terrific attitude. Online, interaction wasn't easy, but he was gentle & helpful during ofc hrs. CSIS 217 is inherently hard, but he taught it w/lower standards (ie. easier) than a previous prof I took this class with, who had more real-world experience & gave MUCH better content. Loves Microsoft too much. Avoid taking online.
