Good person, but you have to ask questions if you want to understand. If you skip class every now and again you'll be okay because 99% of the things that show up on testquizzes will be in the book.

This man can not teach. He doesn't go by the book, which makes it really difficult to go back and study the materials. He also is really bad at answering your questions when its very important to understand what he is saying. He is one of the worst teachers I've ever had, and I recommend you never take his classes.

yes, can be scatterbrained, but not because he's a bad professor but because he is just so much smarter than the rest of us. can make boring class interesting (heritage ugh) and has lots of school spirit which is always nice.

Quite possibly one of the top 5 smartest men on campus. However, he's pretty tough to please. I really enjoyed psy 72 even though most of it was over my head. READ THIS...if you carefully read the section on grading in the syllabus I think it it clear if you read between the lines that if you turn in all the work and show up for the majority of quizes, the lowest grade you will get is a B. Thats exactly what I did, and I did pretty badly on most of the quizzes and tests but got outta there with a B+.

Comment:

Hank is one of the most talented professors I have ever had. On the surface, his lectures may seem random, but EVERYTHING is relevant. Do your reading before class and pay attention. He has high expectations, but his grading is clear and consistent. Psych 72 made me think harder than any course in my life. If you want an easy A, don't take him. If you want to be challenged and prepared for grad work in psych, take his psy courses. (But HWC44 does suck-- his material isn't geared to a general student body.)

Didn't teach anything that was on the quizzes, that was all from the reading. Was also unprofessional in that he randomly showed politically biased humor to prove a point that it didn't really prove. Got sidetracked with athletics related stuff. Not funny but tries really hard to be.

His social science stats class was my hour and a half nap 3 days a week. He HAD to get through his powerpoint before he would consider taking questions. By time he got to the end of his presentation, we didn't even know what a question looked like. He's a good guy, but a poor professor.

I just want to say that some students have no interest in knowing who their professor really is, and that's fine, but if you've ever spent time with Dr. Gorman as a person you'd know that he sincerely cares about his students and performance. Quirky, yes. ****, never.

If you say that he's arrogant or unapproachable then you haven't tried. He's not the best professor on campus but he's definitely not the worst, and he does make every effort to pass anyone who gives the least bit of interest and shows up to half the classes.
