Comment:

Professor Rishel is a seasoned scholar with much to offer any student. If you do not plan on being committed, then do not expect to do well with any teacher. I learned more from him than I could have ever hoped from a teacher at Macomb. He spent some time in D.C. working with powerful people, making him unusually experienced. His expertise is rare.

horrible teacher. waste of my money. talks too much about himself and even ended up dropping one of our major tests because he claimed that he did not know how we fell so far behind. can you say crazy? tests were difficult to understand because he writes them himself and never talked about topics in class. get a better teacher. NOT rishel.

Rishel is by far the worst teacher an incoming freshman could ever have, unless you are a genius and know everything about the presidential candidates and where they live and what they did and so on. He really likes to talk about his life and spends about 75% of the class time talking about himself along with his extremely smart sons. $$ wasted.

He is a nice guy, but his teaching ways stink. He is all over the place. He hardly ever talked about anything relevent to the class. he would get on a story and that would take up the entire session. his extremely monotone voice doesnt help any either. overall I found this class very boring and I feel i have learned very little about politics.

Hank Horace Rishel is the most incredible teacher I have ever had. His voice is unfortunately monotone, but you learn to get use to it. His stories were very interesting and his tests weren't bad. Best off all he owns a bed and breakfast with his wife Beatrice. Super nice guy and a very prestigious scholar!

Rishel knows the subject well, which is good if you are interested in political science. What I liked was that he gave us the oppertunity to read good books for extra credit. The worst thing I can say about him is the fact that MANY questions on the test were NEVER discussed in the classroom. To be honest, he should probably retire soon.

Overall a nice guy, and a good professor. His stories helped me comprehend the class material. My only complaint was some of the test questions were a little tricky, but there was a curve and plently of opportunities for extra credit. The Course was mainly straight forward, and I would recommend it to anyone whos intrested in Politics.

Hank "The Silver Fox" Rishel, is an incredible teacher. He has an incredible grasp on all the information he gives the students. His lectures are informative with massive amounts of information coming at you in every way shape and form. The Silver Fox is an incredible story and joke teller also, so once you leave his class, you will leave euphoric.

Takes a bit of time to make his point, however, there is a method to his madness. Story telling for the most part, helps one remember why something is discussed. Once his point is made, he drives it home. His "Previews of Upcoming Events" are invaluable as a study guide. If one actually takes notes,studies them and the handouts, you will do well.

The way he explains is off tangent and his tests have riddle theme to them.He has a 2 page essay question for the test as well but you need to structure your intro. paragraph like a child to receive a good grade.
