Hans has a relaxed, easy-going teaching style but does expect the work to be done. About the only way to do poorly in his class is to blow it off which is your own fault. He has a lot of photographic knowledge that he is willing to share in a non-condescending and helpful way. Oh yeah, the bagels and pizza are great, too.

This is an easy class, and Hans is an easy going guy. He uses examples of other work to show various styles and composition. Lots of movies, some assignments mixed throughout. Put forth some effort and you will be okay. The textbook was never addressed.

Very helpful. Keeps the sitting in class to a minimum, so there is more time to work in the dark room.

Decent class. Hans is a nice guy and explains a lot, but he gives tough grades for an Intro class and isn't always specific on what you should do to improve (or how to do it). Nice guy, but he makes everything harder than it should be.

Hans is a very helpful teacher who is actually willing to go the extra mile for his students. He supports them with anything they do, and he encourages them unlike most professors. He takes time to learn who you are personally and teaches so each person can learn. He is also "cool" in the sense that

Very Good Professor, very willing to spend time with individuals who are having problems with things, I would not only recomend Hans as a teacher I would encourage it. The most approachable professor I Have ever had, unless you are unwilling to try or learn you will enjoy this class.

Mr. Klemmer is the best teacher I've had at COD. He is extremely kind and generous. And it is such a delight to be in this class. To be honest, I feel like we're a family and I will really miss it when it's over in 2 1/2 weeks. He is an excellent photographer himself and is very knowledgable.

I really enjoy Photography 100 because I get a chance to shoot many diferent areas. The assignments that Han gives out are good but he doesn't explain them very well. He seems to be to techinical when it comes to contrast. Other than that he's just an ok teacher on my book.

good teacher, great guy. really knows his stuff, and he's passionate about the subject matter. Very helpful. This isn't an easy A by any means, but it's a worthwhile experience if you really want a good foundation in beginning photography. And donuts.

Other than the fact he's a nice guy, the best thing about his class is he brings boxes of donuts in for everyone every other week. Assignments are fun and creative to do -- but grades a little too tough for Intro class; this is supposed to be real basic.
