Our first midterm was disastrous and little review was done. Average grade 48 and he said we should work harder...

Comment:
I really enjoyed the material in this course but Koomen is a terrible teacher. The class was not well organized, we were given assignments on things to be lectured on the following week, and quizzes on things not covered in the course. Not too difficult (got an A-), but all in all the class was low quality. Would avoid if possible.

He enjoyed teaching the class but through not fault of his own the class was very disorganized. The robots themselves were complete messes but he tried hard to fix that. Wanted us to learn but tests were completely random with no structured review

You know you suck when 1/2 the class withdraws after the first project because they got under a 50 on it. LEARN HOW TO TEACH

This guy is more serious than Pawlicki, which can be good or can be bad. He's an adjunct so he is not very "connected" to the campus, and doesn't really know how things work around here. So he's a bit aloof.

Nice guy but puts trivial multiple choice questions on his exams. Teaches almost completely out of the textbook, including labs.

I liked him a lot. He's an adjunct professor, so it can sometimes be difficult to contant him, but he's very clear. Many CS kids dislike him, but I'm a fan.

I don't know what the other people were complaining about... Professor Koomen is a _great_ professor. He is demanding, but is willing to help you grasp the topics in any way possible. If you aren't willing to work, possessed of any aptitude for CS or interested in learning, he's not the prof. for you.

His method of testing is God-awful. He's very uninspired when it comes to helping with tests. He doesn't provide practice tests, doesn't tell you what format it's in, and likes to surprise you with ridiculously specific questions. When we asked him what to study for the test, he said "pages 1-400." No topic overview, nothing.

Loooove his crazy voice. Class is a cake walk for 7 weeks, then BOOM and Javascript tabling takes over your life. I attended 4 classes. What a strange guy, well organized, very specific. Awkward most of the time

Koomen is a funny German dude. The class is not that bad if you do all the work and study some. If you fall behind or are a lazy you're f---. It was funny watching him try to hit on the hot female Psychology teacher that taught the class before us.

Death on earth. If you don't already know java, do not plan to do well. If you know java, still don't plan to well. Its a split between easiness and reaaallly hardness.

this class should be taken only by computers or nerds. the teacher is the devil, with his only saving grace being his entertaining voice cracks like a 13 year old boy.
