Prof Svebakken easily became one of my favorites. The content might be dry at times, but he does his best to make sure you understand and succeed and makes sure you are learning through a variety of techniques. His content is thought provoking but still super doable and easy. Just show up and do your work and it should be an easy A.

This man is the single most woke theology professor out there. He is objective and interesting and gives a perspective to religion that I would have never expected from the Catholic school I go to. He keeps it honest, true, and always open for discussion. 10/10 professor who managed to make what had the potential to be a very boring class amazing.

One of my favorite professors. He is very clear about what he wants and about how the grading for the class works. My advice would be just show up to class and take good notes and you'll do fine on his weekly online quizzes. I'd also suggest to do the readings he assigns and make an effort on the projects because it will be huge for your grade.

Hans is such a warm personality. Super relaxed, fair grader, and really cares about his students. There are weekly quizzes but as long as you do the readings they are a piece of cake. No surprises with this guy. The rest of my professors should take notes from him!

Professor Svebakken is an amazing guy and an amazing professor. It's very apparent that he cares about each individual student and wants every single person to succeed. There are weekly in class pop quizzes, but the questions are taken from a reading guide he provides. There are also weekly online quizzes, which can really boost your grade.

Professor Svebakken is easily the best professor I have had at Loyola. One of the kindest and greatest men I have ever met and is very passionate about what he teaches. Always gives good feedback and was always accessible if I needed help. One midterm and weekly online quizzes on material covered in the week prior. I wish I could have him again!

One of the most genuinely kind professors I've ever had. If you ever have any questions, he will go out of his way to do what he can to help. There is a lot of reading, but go to class for discussions that reflect upon the readings to make everything clear. He cares a lot about the success of his students and is very passionate about the subject.

Professor Svebakken cares not for himself, but for his students, and his university. The work is manageable, and he is very engaging. I never once heard him tell a student their answer was wrong during lecture, he always just filled in the gaps for you. Great guy and great professor. My only regret is not taking another class with him.

SUPER NICE! Easy A: do all the blogs and make sure to read the 3 books. He's a lenient grader so as long as you show thought/effort, he'll give you 100%. The only things you really have to study for are the midterm and final: no MC so know the material well, all other assessments are online. He likes participation and is an adorable person.

Best Theo 100 teacher. 3 books to read for online assessments. DO THE BLOGS because that'll easily get your participation grade to 100%. Take the midterm and final seriously although the questions are selective not cumulative (pick 2 out of 6 to answer). Theologian Project is 20% of your grade. There no reason not to get an A from him. Great guy.

Professor Svebakken is a great person. There is a good amount of work for a core class but you will learn a lot. Be sure to do blogging a few times, because it helps your participation score a lot. I would definitely recommend.

Hans is a very genuine professor, but the work load is terrible! Don't take if you don't want to be constantly working on this class. It is a core class, so it shouldn't be difficult. The course material is not difficult to understand; however, the amount of homework that accompanies the material is very overloading.

Hans is very easy if you do everything youre supposed to. There's weekly online logs and occasional online quizzes, but the questions are straightforward. Power Point project that you get to pick the topic of. If you raise your hand a lot he'll like you and you earn brownie points. A thoughtful and kind guy. Really cares about his students/course.

AMAZING PROFESSOR, SO NICE AND WILLING TO HELP ANYONE WHO WANTS AN A. The class is graded by a lot of different things which is nice and Hans is a really nice grader. There are online quizzes, participation matters, a presentation, midterm and final. The class is easy for a core class and it should be. He really makes the class interesting for all.

Amazing prof! Probably one of the best teachers I have ever had. He clearly has a passion for theology and he's made me love it so much I'm taking on a catholic studies minor!! If you have the chance definitely take him! Readings each week, midterm and a final, and a project but he makes it all really interesting!! Take him!

I have taken Dr. Svebakken before and he has yet to disappoint. He is one of the most thoughtful and dedicated professors at Loyola. He's very good with explaining theology clearly, and he will definitely help you become a better writer if you want to. 6-8 page research paper, 3 2-3 page primary text assignments, 4 online mc quizzes, and participat
