Not a hard class if you show up and do the quizzes. There's online quizzes for every chapter that you can retake as many times as you want as well as Excel simulations. There's a group project at the end as well as group activities throughout the semester

Emails out Weekly Communications but otherwise has very poor communication; Syllabus and some WC's DID NOT accurately reflect our class, copied over from a prior class with some content change; professor neglected to make pertinent updates causing confusion to the class. Very hands off teaching. Very useful grade calculator though.

The class is difficult, but not as bad as it seems. There will be homework every week, and quizzes as well. Your homework does not need to be 100% on point, as long as you have tried, you will get credit for it. Tests count a lot, so be sure to study!

Comment:

This guy is old school, you don't usually want to see that in a highly technical field. He is a nice guy, but he doesn't teach this content well. His lectures are just him reading off the slides provided by the book publisher and they do not add value. The homework and assignments are extremely technical and require advanced critical thinking.

He's awesome for 3063. His group projects are much easier than the other professors for this class. Very laid-back and understanding. Will help you on projects if you ask him. Take him!

This class is difficult. If you pay attention (though he reads directly off the slide most of the time) you should do well. You should attend class despite anything. Sometimes when attendance is low, he will give those students a benefit that the absentees don't get.

Lots of long HW, but grades those easy. 6 quizzes. First few chapters (SQL) were not that hard. Everything after that, for me, was very hard. SQL mid-term/final take-home tests were not hard. The proctored mid-term/final were hard. The 2 assignments were tedious. Overall, decent professor. Lectures can get boring. I somehow passed with a B..

Pretty easy class, quizzes pretty much every week. Answers are straight from the book. Lots of group activity, having a good group will make this class a lot easier. Only a mid term and final that aren't super hard. There are also 10 Group assignments in class that are pretty much for participation. Would recommend this class to anyone

The amount of work required in this class borders on the ridiculous side. Expect littler to no help from Mr. Wise. His video lectures are pointless, less you cannot read your own self.

The class is very well structured. I was personally NOT excited to take this class because I was afraid of how I would do. You have to do the work to get a good grade. This is not a class where you can "get by" but that's a great thing. He is very helpful and provides all the tools for you to get an A. GREAT INSTRUCTOR.

Inept and absent. He makes mistakes in his lectures, homework assignments, and projects. His lectures are nothing but reading the slides, which have errors. Unfortunately, he's the only who teaches the core classes. Take him, but be careful for his mistakes that damage your grade.

This clss is BORING, but he's an alright guy i suppose. I thought the assignments were kind of hard, so if you are not good with microsoft excel or access, make sure you get a good group!! Attendance is mandatory. Assignments, quizzes, a couple of tests, anda group presentation at the end of the semester. Consider him an average professor

great teacher funny sense of humor. Attendance is not mandatory but you gain or lose points to your final avg. Mostly ppt during lecture, sometimes hard to stay awake but overall very nice person. Easy B if you go to class and submit all assignments

Terrible teacher. Take the class online because the book will teach you everything you need to know. He takes forever to respond to emails, and doesn't even answer your question with anything helpful. If I could repeat, I'd take anyone but him.

This class can be very boring at times but the teacher is fair and tries to make it more interesting. The test and projects will not kill you as long as you prepare for them. He is willing to help as long as you ask him. If you have to take this class, take him. it will make your semester easier on yourself.
