Good professor. She was interesting and well thought out and prepared. I enjoyed her class. The readings and lessons went hand in hand. Fair grader. Although on several occasions her cell phone rang in class and one time she did answer it, but very good teacher nonetheless

Luria's class is like a cup of chamomile tea. Seriously. No anxiety, only the pleasant desire to read and reflect. Classroom discussion is everything but not mandatory. She doesn't teach books like sermon, but rather art. She openly welcomes diversity of opinion. I never once felt trapped or desperate like other Eng classes taken. Luria gets an A+

The readings were well-considered and diverse. The emphasis of the class is put on the student's personal reflections, which helped me grow more than other professors who count themselves as the Obi Wan Kenobis of literature. Luria wants you to do well and is clearly willing to help in anyway possible to guide you through the process of the texts.

Take her class. She is by far the most low-stress, high-quality professor in the English Dept. Instead of pontificating, she listens. Instead of mandating ideas, she makes suggestions but in the end is more interested in helping the student develop their own literary sophistication. Best teacher I had at Hunter. She cares, clearly wants you to grow

I took her for Women Writers. She's extremely respectful and wants students to do good. She's always available by e-mail and the readings are pretty good even though I didn't read all the books. She gives 3 papers, a mid term and a final. As long as you hand in all the work and do decent on the exams, you'll be fine.A high interest level is a plus.

Great professor, the material itself can be confusing but she explains everything well and give practice quizzes which she will go over if u ask. The material can get boring but she has a sense of humor & will make class a bit fun. Fair grader 3 quizzes, 1 paper and a final. There no way u can fail this class.

She's a nice person. Fair grader, and encourages student participation. Only thing is she gives too much reading and we usually end up kinda behind..oh and she pushed the midterm back a class and she allows re-writes of papers..

I cannot praise Professor Luria highly enough! The class was well planned, and we covered topics like phonology, grammar, and multi-lingualism. She gears the class for would-be teachers. Five quizzes, a midterm project (essay), and a final (comparative essay). If English is your first language, this class should be a bresze.

She can seem a bit unfocused at first because she brings so many ideas into the classroom. She is thinking on many levels and wants you to think like that too. Prof. Luria is a fair grader and will help you on your papers. Topics are your own choice as related to the books. There is a lot of reading so you have to keep up to make the grade.

She makes some mistakes and confuses things. But she is the nicest person ever. Very helpful. She is the easiest grader, giving you credit for things that are not quite right. She gives a lot of reading but not much other else. Her papers are really easy.
