Horrible, horrible, horrible, failed me and accused me of cheating when I didn't! Rude and belittling in emails. DO NOT TAKE. WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD.

I took this class online over summer A and it was awful. I had to spend hours each day working on assignments because he is vague in what all he expects, and there was just so much work that needed to be completed in 6 weeks.

Make sure you stay on top of the readings! If you do not read the required text you will NOT pass this class. His summer online course is very fast paced. He does not set you up for failure though. There are 20 quizzes with two parts and he takes the higher of the two, you can also do an optional essay if you do not like your quiz grade. Fair.

If you do take this class do not take it during the summer. Chapters are incredibly long. A lot of unnecessary readings. Quizzes are straight from the bookreadings. Buy the textbook but cheaply if you can. 20 quizzes, 2 exams (counts highest) & a final. Plenty of built-in extra credit if you do everything. Professor is pretentious.

The course links are confusing , you have to conform exactly to get the access code. Quizzes require arcane info from the million of pages to read. Remain neutral with your ideas. Very rigid in his thought process I do not recommend taking his class or at least a summer class. Work loadreadings are unbelievable! Daily quizzes are due at 10pm.

If you want an easy A, and do not want to be challenged to look at the world from aspects other that your own, or if you expect to state an opinion on a paper, and not provide the research to back it up, do not take his classes. Graduated two semesters ago, and entered my graduate studies, writing like I have a PhD already. Thanks Dr. C!

Coverston is an extremely tough grader, especially for written assignments. He's the kind of professor that will give you a lower grade simply because you don't share his opinion on a certain matter. There are 2 quizzes per chapter and they have incredibly detailed questions. You MUST read to pass. I'm a straight A student and managed a B-

I really liked this class. There are 2 tests per chapter (10 questions each) & he drops the lower of the two. You MUST read the chapters in order to pass. The questions are straight from it (they can be hella lengthy sometimes). Exams are all papers. Expect to write 10+ pgs for a good grade. Pretty clear grading criteria & always grades fairly.

Quizzes are impossible. Excuse my sarcasm, but I could practice every religion for ten years straight and still not pass this class. Tests are based on current cultural issues, never discussed in book. Discretely inserts his own beliefs into tests and quizzes. Read the book front to back. I spent hours reading and studying and barely got a C.

I took this class online figuring it would be easier, but I was wrong. His exams aren't multiple choice and require lots of writing. His quizzes have trick questions on them, and there are little to no opportunities for extra credit.

He expects a lot of study time from you. I've been in college a couple years now and haven't had a teacher expect so much time from me. There are weekly quizzes on a chapter, sometimes up to three chapters a week. Each one is 30 plus pages. Hes very rude when you ask questions and grades very harshly, almost talking down to you in the comments

I am definitely not taking another class with this Professor. Belittling comments in grading, confusing schedule and due dates, does NOT answer questions that are emailed to him, group projects in an ONLINE CLASS, takes points off assignments for ridiculous reasons... just to name a few reasons. AVOID! AVOID!

He literally makes you submit an assignment about who you are at the beginning of the semester. He makes you include such personal information as your religious background, financial standing, and details about your family and upbringing. He does this so he can then spend the rest of the semester belittling you. He is a horrible person and prof.

He is the worst teacher ever. Do NOT take his class. I submitted an essay test I had worked for two solid days on and his only feedback was "Next time leave more time to read and prepare" and a failing grade. It was a course on religions but we were forced to interpret art and other ambiguous concepts through his lens only. He does not respect you.

Dr. Coverston is not an easy professor, howevever, if you came to class to sit and receive your grade at the end of the semester, you don't belong in a classroom. In light of that, Dr. Coverston is knowledgeable, kind, and has a deep passion for teaching that surpasses most. He introduces subjects which can give you perspective on how to live well.

Dr. Coverston is the best! Seriously,DON'T base your decision on taking his class off of RMP comments and ratings. I took him for Modern Humanities Fall 2013, and I wasn't looking forward to it. But it ended up being the most helpful class I took so far. Dr. Coverston is very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable as long as you are willing to learn.

This professor in my opinion is one that i would not take again. He is not a beneficial teacher and belittled me multiple times in the course due to my weekly blog posts and my first assignment about who "i was". it doesnt matter if you do the work--if its not what he wants to read you wont get credit. find another teacher--not good to take online.

Honestly the worst class ever, avoid this class by ALL cost. I've never written a review before but I had to just to warn people not to take this class. He is the rudest professor and thinks he's superior to everyone. Nothing is clear, he's super biased and will give you a D even when you are just stating facts out of the textbook. SAVE YOURSELF.
