Comment:

Dr. Mokeba is one of the most unique professors that I have encountered. He is absolutely hilarious, interesting, and knowledgeable. Nevertheless, if you show up to class and participate, you will do fine. While his lectures are often unorganized, he compensates by telling you what will be on the test. Overall, he is a great professor.

Comment:

Although Dr. Mokeba lectures similarly to other professors, he is unconventional in approaching topics. He likes interaction and won't just give you the answers. He'll make you answer them which is a more effective way of remembering what you learn. He wants you to succeed and acknowledges an active student when he has one.

Mokeba is really funny and very enthusiastic in his lectures so the class is really enjoyable. Attendance is not mandatory but I recommend not missing class because he says things he is specifically looking for on tests (not many and not hard, graded tough). He doesnt have a moodle page which kinda sucks but he is a really good professor.

I love Mokeba. He loved to relate to the students and show that he does want you to succeed. I legit just take classes that I know he is teaching. I love him and because I am Israeli he always seemed interested to talk to me, which I love. He cares, he is amazing, and no other professor can even compare to this amazing man.

Dr. Mokeba is a staple in the Political Science Department at LSU. You need him on your side. He will never give you the answer but help you interpret understanding. He's flexible and very knowledgeable about Politics but, has a thick accent and grades papers with little feedback. Truly cares about students and helps you to grow as a person.

I really enjoyed Mokeba but he is definitely not for everyone. He's very vague in his expectations and often changes his syllabus. He also refuses to use technology and uses a chalkboard for all his class notes, which can be difficult to read. If you speak with him outside of class, he will not only help you but also respect you as a student.

He is an amazing teacher. He's accent is very heavy but just listen and ask questions and you"ll be fine. Plus if you have a hard time go to his office hours. NO TEXTBOOK!! All you need is you, active listening and notes. But look up he writes all over the place. And speak fast. He doesn't use Moodle :(. its worth it I'm taking him again.

I took Dr. Mokeba four different times for four different classes! Love his classes. Even though his class requires a lot of writing its very easy if you take good notes. The more you write on your exams and essays the better your grade. Show him that you care and you'll do fine in his class.

Relatively easy class, not many assignments, but you really have to pay attention to his lecture and take notes. His accent is very hard to understand (in my opinion) and he makes it worse by speaking extremely fast. Not a class that's an easy A.

He's a bit hard to understand, but just actively listen and take notes and you should be fine. The tests are easy because he pretty much tells you what's on them, but be sure to put as much info in your answers as possible. Go to his office for participation points. The final is long, but easy because you know what's on it. DON'T SKIP CLASS.

He really changed the game for me. Being a PoliSci major I was unsure at first, but Mokeba solidified my love for politics. He's literally hilarious and gives you an immense amount of freedom on essays. He's incredibly helpful and gives great feedback!

He is absolutely hilarious! Loves to joke around the students and very passionate about the class. There are not many grades in the class but he gives you the answers to the midterm and final. The other test is take home but he grades that harshly.

Dr. Mokeba does not have good presentation, based on his terrible ability to present what he's saying on the white board, but he is a must for political science. He will guarantee you know something about the subject, and he is insanely cultured. Talking to him is like visiting another country. If you go to his office hours, you will get an A.

Dr. Mokeba is.. interesting. He is definitely very knowledgable and knows what he is talking about! However, his notes are impossible to understand. He literally writes on top of words that are already on the board. Make sure you go to class and really pay attention. His extra help sessions are great too. He's funny, in an odd sort of way.

Well, you might be lucky and be on the good side of his whims and make an easy A because he feels like giving you one. Or you might be like the rest of the class and barely get a B-. Your call. Asked what I could have done better and how I could improve and he literally said, "hate to say it, but it's all a game." He's nice and likable, but c'mon.

I'm taking him for 2057 and 4042. Essay exams with a presentation. He writes on the board and speaks extremely fast with an African accent that is hard to keep up with. Doesn't seem to grade with a rubric--just whatever he feels. Once you learn what he wants it gets easier.

His handwriting is difficult to make out sometimes, but he lets you know what he wants from you for essays and exams. Very personable and easy to get ahold of during his office hours. He is very specific in grading, but if you pay attention to what he says he wants, you'll do fine.

The exams are not extremely difficult, if you study the lectures and what he suggests you cover ahead of time, you'll definitely pass the class. Took this for a credit I needed for HSS, really liked the class and the atmosphere. Mokeba has a slight african accent but it's not like you can't understand what he's saying. Definitely recommend!

Comment:

Mokeba is one of the best teachers in the political science department. I took Professor Mokeba for several classes - my favorite being African Government & Politics. He really cares about his students AND the material that he teaches.
