greatest guy i've ever met. He has a great sense of humor and at the same time, keeps everything on the chemical level. His lectures are very important, and he makes the notes easy to understand and easy to go back and pick out important information. (love his little "in red" texts) great great great professor! i'd be upset if he'd retired

THE BEST PROFESSOR EVER! He is an amazing teacher that takes the time to make sure you understand the material. Attendence is not manditory however its near imposible to pass the class without attending. He is willing to give you extra help if you need and makes sure you have every opportunity necessary, not only pass the class but get a good grade

AMAZING. i failed chem in high school but i got an A in this class because pence CARES about his students, cares about you and how you're doing. very helpful in office hours, in lecture he speaks clearly and always is welcome to questions.. hes fun too. tests are a good time to take if you study the material - im serious.pence is the man!

Excellent professor, He is helpful and understanding of students. Chemistry isn't an easy subject that is plain and simple, but Dr. Pence tries to relate the material to everyday life and into steps that makes it easier to understand. He is very knowledgeable of the material and is willing to help students who ask. He is also a great lecturer.

Great teacher-gives so many examples of problems, and is always willing to help if you don't understand something. Definitely go to class and all the labs, but if you study the class isn't too hard. Also, he lets you hand in study sheets that help you study AND give you extra points!

Chem is the hardest class for me, but I have the highest grade in it! You definately have to go to class and listen to lecture but he post the notes on a computer if you happen to miss a class. He tells exactly whats on the test and gives old test for examples. Helpful guy, if you do the work you will do well

This prof is one of the best teachers I've had. It's really hard to make chemistry fun but he does it. Just pay attention to him and you'll do fine. Don't be afraid to approach him. He's willing to work with you no matter what your schedule is like...he'll find time. He cares about his students.

Some people find Dr. Pence to be a great professor, I did not feal that way about him. If you are a science person, I'm sure he is a good professor, but if you are not, he is confusing. He overcomplicates very simple ideas.

If you want a good teacher for chem this is the man to take it with! Hes the most helpful teacher i know! His lectures are very oraganized, test are pretty much as the same as the practice ones(do them cause they help a lot!)! Take chem with him!

This is such a hard class. Pence is willing to help you every chance you give him. The tests are real hard but he give you lots of practice. I didn't do good in the class but he is still a good teacher.
