Don't need the physical book; it's on MindTap. MindTap saved my butt. I taught myself a lot there. Schaumloffel is helpful in his office hours if you have problems with something; take advantage of that opportunity because it is impossible to ask questions in lecture! Lets you have a cheat sheet for exams, including the final. Effort is everything!

You only have 4 unit tests and one gets dropped. They are fair and points get added if the class average is bad. MINDTAP WILL TAKEOVER YOUR ENTIRE LIFE. Mindtap is an online website that is mandatory, but it will actually help you learn and understand topics considering lecture is boring and he is really bad at explaining things.

If chemistry does not come naturally to you make sure you do not take this class with him!! You can tell he is very knowledgeable on the subject but his teaching skills are non existent. When you go for extra help he makes you feel like an idiot and wont give you straight answers. This is already a hard class without having an awful professor

honestly probably one of the worst professors ever, he was not helpful at all. he basically pushes you out of his office when you go for help. do not take the class with him, only good thing is that he lets you bring a notecard filled with information for the exams

I don't know what other people are complaining about. Of course this course is hard its CHEMISTRY. He is a nice helpful guy. Gives extra credit and allows 1 or 2 cheat cards on test and a cheat sheet on final. Do your work and get help when needed and you'll be fine. He associates his teachings with owl which is very helpful.

you dont have to go to class bc he does absolutely nothin in class except click thru the slides.. gives way too much ass. in owls, you must do them its graded and thats where you learn the material bc hes not teachn it..hes very nice and sorta funny he is willing to try an d help you outside of class.. def recommend findin a study grp to do owl w/

Switch your teacher. He is not helpful and does not know how to teach chemistry. He is a very nice man and very intelligent, but probably should not be a teacher. Doesn't know how to teach the information in an effective way.

This man can not teach for his life. This is an advanced course so the material is hard, but the workload was ridiculous spending 10 hours on a homework assignment is the norm. This doesn't include lab reports, projects and studying for a test in the same week. Test are graded unfairly, and the questions are incomprehensible.

I took chem in every day life with him summer of '03. He made the class as interesting as chem can be for non-science people and it was an upbeat atmosphere. He has a tendency to tell lame jokes and get off topic but he has a great personality.
