Prof Marmurek made me love stats! If you took data management in high school then this class will seem easy. Especially because he is so clear at explaining statistics and you can tell he knows his stuff. I was given a large cheat sheet for every midterm and exam which made things easier too. I recommend taking the course. Great guy and prof.

If you put in the work (which is not difficult), you get the grades you want. Very straight-forward. Prof. Marmurek makes it easy to achieve excellent marks, and tries his best to be both approachable and clear. I hate math, and he made this statistics course worthwhile.

Simple class, he provides great notes and is very helpful. The textbook thoroughly provides what will be expected on midterms, do your homework, and you will do good. He is very considerate if you go talk to him, and he helps out when it is needed. Awesome guy!

Dr. Marmurek is a great teacher and is patient and helpful if you go to see him during office hours. He doesn't hold your hand or treat you like a child - he expects you to take responsibility for your own learning. If you do, you'll do great in his class and it'll help you develop skills you need for work throughout your life.

This was a great class. There is a lot of reading required and you will not get a good mark if you do not do the weekly readings. The text book was great. There was 2 midterms, both relatively difficult, but able to use your texts. He is a great prof, easy to access. Critical essay questions are more based off of details, not opinion.

I really enjoyed Prof. Marmurek for Cognitive Psych. I thought he was clear (and adorable) and his exams were very fair. This doesn't seem to be the general consensus, but I believe if you did the textbook readings and went to class you could do well. I didn't enjoy his as much for experimental research methods, but he was accommodating

Terrible class . Do not take this course honestly. I am in third year and I have never had a prof that I did not like so much. This is unfortunate because I really like the content. Prof is unhelpful, unsympathetic, and expects students to know information that is not useful. Not good is all I can say.

I did not take a class with Mr. Marmurek but I contacted him regarding course selection as he is the Honours BA Psych advisor. He immediately questioned my intentions of going to grad school and told me I likely wouldn't get in. Which was confusing as he knew nothing about me and had not seen my academic records. Worst advisor ever!

Boring. Horrible with technology. Not helpful. Isn't very open to questions and acts like you're dumb to not already understand. Should probably just retire. Lectures weren't helpful. Usually has a ridiculous number of slides that never get completed or does so with no elaboration.

Seems really nice. He did weekly updates, made sure to remind us when our assignments were due that week. Always outlined the assignments, never had any questions about deadlines or content. Great layout for the coursework. Really enjoyed this course :) Great Prof!

My comment is about the author of the text, David Myers. He can't seem to leave his political ideology out of his work. He claims to be independent but this is clearly not true. Take this class's political message with a grain of salt. It's nothing but intentionally misleading propaganda.

can be a nice guy one on one, but in a lecture tends to get annoyed easily with the class over a low average. terrible teacher, practically reads right out of the textbook and doesnt clarify very often. no wonder our average is so low...

He's a nice guy. Not a terribly great Prof, hes mainly a researcher so hasn't taught much in the past years. He will help you out a lot if you talk to him or go to office hours and tries to do whats fair. He needs to use time more appropriately (focus on more important topics). He uses only textbook content so if you know the book you will do fine.

Awful prof. He's very full of himself, when he asks for feedback he gets defensive and quite rude. Terrible lecturer, spends way too much time on unimportant things and then wonders why his class average is so low. Avoid at all costs.

He is a HORRIBLE prof. He is very confusing and rambles on without actually explaining anything. The course content is fairly straight forward but midterms were designed to trick you. They were not given in the style he told us they would be and there were tons of trick questions (eg. in a short answer he asked if it was A or B, it was neither)

Yes, he is the worst professor that anyone could possibly encounter. The rest of the commenter says it all, he needs to work on his temperance and manner. And again, if he is teaching an online course, I would recommend that you not take it.

Probably the most egotistical and rude person I have ever encountered in my entire life. He comes up with lame excuses every time you present something which contradicts his answers or statements leading me to believe that he has a serious ego problem that should probably be looked at by someone in the Psych. department. Avoid at all costs!

A condescending jerk with zero aptitude for teaching. That he's currently the chair of the dept would be hilarious if it weren't so scary. You see him prancing around and gossiping like it's social hour more than actually doing anything to promote a positive learning environment. In desperate need of a haircut/makeover.

The midterms are simple because he gives you samples which are pretty much the exact same as the real thing, and he gives the answers. The assignments are easy as long as you stick to APA and make yourself clear.
