Hands on Teacher!! He has is own way of teaching, so you have to come to class to learn his way. He was hard at first, and doesn't explain in detail questions I asked. But he is way better at helping after class. He does love study session. I had one every week with him. There was about 16 students in my class and only 4 passed. Effort is a Must!!

Prof. Yarborough was my instructor for remedial math, college algebra, & trig about 20 yrs ago. I recently went back to school and because of his "discovery" method of teaching, all these years later, I excel at any given math problem whether it is in applied statistics, accounting, economics, etc. Take good notes and do the practice problems.

Get ready for full participation. I lived at the chalkboard. I did not always understand and asking questions earned me the next problem at the board which only confused me more. I lived in the tutoring center because of his teaching method. One good thing is he allows you one page of notes to help during tests. You also have to grade homework.

The worst. When you tell him you don't understand an approach he won't even consider trying to explain matters in a different light. Also, he doesn't believe in the quadratic equation and refers it to cheating. His text is just problems with no solutions. All students have access to classmates grades. Do not take this class. He puts you on the spot to work out problems on the board in front of the entire class. He is not very willing to help and when he does, he makes you feel stupid about it. So unconcerned. Worst math teacher I have ever had. I have to re-take the course next semester, along with the other 15 people who didn't pass.

If you don't like to be put on the spot, don't take this professor. He calls on students to go work problems out on the board and can sometimes have "smart" remarks if you need help. He teaches differently from all the other math professors so make sure you're aware of that. He also uses his own book that's only like 12 dollars.

If u take him u will not be able to understand most standard methods for teaching math when u move on.He will help outside class but he will under no condition allow u to make u tests or homework if u miss.My grandma died from cancer and he did not let me makeup a test or homework.I got a 78 due to the zeroes and he would not round up or omit.

I came into it believing I had a good knowledge of Math,but quickly realized I was struggling with material.Yes, Yarborough has a different teaching method,however if you value education and are determined, you will succeed and feel better accomplished for it. He devoted numerous office hrs helping me. Slackers dont take this class!!

He has an unorthodox method of teaching which people aren't used to. But, his method helps deeply understand the concepts of math. Unlike other teachers that teach you short cuts to get you to pass and then get out. He wants you to KNOW math on a deeper level. He was harder than when I took Bacica, but he is a good teacher.

There were occasions where he couldn't read his own hand writing ("Is that.. Uh.. a two or a four" - not kidding.) He often made mistakes and often resorted to just saying "if you correct me here and here, it should be correct." I do have to say though that in person he was very clear. Loved the subject matter in spite of everything.

Wears suspenders daily.</br>Teaches fast and makes mistakes in notes. Pay attention or you won't catch them. He will help you outside of class but you must be patient in/out of class with his ways of teaching. If you struggle with math I don't recommend him.
