Class was really cool, Heather seems to have experience to back up her knowledge. She is willing to answer your questions but she never lets you finish your question. She will talk over you kind of rudely and then not answer your question. Its disruptive to learning but not enough to make the class bad. Just be prepared to ask your question twice

Heather is an awesome person and extremely knowledgeable. She is very helpful but its not an easy class. Don't take this class if you aren't serious about audio production. Best thing is that all her knowledge is from the field and is 100% relevant. Doesn't teach you anything you don't need to know.

Go to lecture and just write everything on the board down. Don't buy the book, everything on tests is from the notes. Only 2 tests. 1 mid-term and 1 final. Have to pass at least 1 to pass class. I studied my notes for just an hour before each test and got 100% on both.

If you didnt do well in this class its because you didnt go to lecture and listen to what she says or print out the powerpoints online. Heather is a good prof who is willing to help if you put in the effort to do well in her class.

Show up to the 8 a.m. lecture, take notes, and don't bother reading the book. Heather is incredibly boring, but anything on the exams is guaranteed to come out of her mouth at some point during the lecture. She talks really slow, and it's hard to stay awake, but just go and try to pay attention, and study the notes when it's time for the exam.

Before taking this class, I came on here and read about 222 and got FREAKED OUT. Now that I'm almost done with it, these people are wrong. If you go to lectures (yes the 8am is not very fun) and write down the notes, then study EXACTLY what she had on the powerpoints, you will do very well. The book will NOT save you. GO TO CLASS. But it's not bad.

I have a better idea: buy the book and don't go to lectures. They are completely pointless because she is boring beyond belief. Her notes are crap and impossible to study from. So just buy the book, read a chapter per week, then show up to take the midterm and final and you'll be fine. On other weeks, just sleep in and don't worry about anything.

All I can say is that it sucks for any of you who still have to take 222 b.c she is the only teacher for the lecture. May the Lord have mercy on your soul. The class isn't hard but she makes it hard by being god awful boring and making it clear that she does not want to be there anymore than the students do. Good luck to you all...

I don't know about the other classes she teaches, but I wasn't a fan at all of her for 222. Lectures are incredibly boring and you'll fall asleep for sure since they're at 8am. Her notes aren't very clear and quite vague, so it's hard to study for exams. Don't bother buying the text book...save your money because you'll never use it.

If you're interested in audio, don't let BCA 222 deter you. Once you get to the higher level audio classes, you start learning in spades, and Heather helps every step of the way. She knows her stuff. Didn't have a fond impression of her after 222, but grew to appreciate her as one of my favorites after 421 where the small class size helps 1 on 1.

Very cool class if you like audio production. The O2R board is fussy, but working with Pro Tools HD rocks. Book wasn't used very much and was pretty much the same as the 222 book. I didn't buy it. Heather was cool. She likes helping out and is always willing to listen to her students. 6 projects. 2 papers. 0 tests. Very fair grader. Fun class.

Most of your grade in this class is dependant on how good or bad your GA is, because they teach the labs and grade your projects. As for the lectures, it sucks because its so early in the morning. Make sure to print off notes, and try to stay awake.

Lectures are pretty dry. Labs take quite a bit of time, but if you have a cool lab instructor, it'll be fun. Buy the single book for the class; it helps with studying a lot. Make sure you show up to lecture, and you should be ok. The midterm is tough. The final is easier. Study a little before tests and you'll be good to go.

it was ok. It might be have been easier if it wasnt so early. Over all it was an ok class but i felt the projects should have been worth more than the tests. Unlike other classes I cant tell you to take someone else since she is the only one who teaches it.

Heather is totaly different in this class than she is in 222. This class has no tests. Only projects and two papers. The projects are easy because you finally get to do multitrack digital editing. Heather is very helpful too. Any questions I had about equipment she answered for me. Would recommend taking if you did well in BCA 222 lab.
