Good clear prof who is very passionate about his work. Class is not not easy by any stretch of the imagination. Tests are difficult there is a big group project with essentially random groups, and a huge research paper. Attendance is not mandatory but is recommended. Get ready to work because this class wont award you with a good grade if you dont.

He knew his stuff and was open to discussions in class. I show up at his office door at random times and he is always willing to clarify things. He is a great prof who actually cares about his students learning. You work for your grades, but it's totally worth it.

This was the dullest, most boring prof I ever had in my 4 years at Dal. He had NO respect for students time. Class was supposed to end at 5:25 and the earliest he shut up was at 5:40 and the lastest was once 6:30!!!! Do not take this class. Also, if you miss a class dont expect to find what you learned online, since he only teaches what HE wrote an

Prof. Osberg's lectures were boring and useless. Reads directly from slides (which are available online) and offers little personal help outside class. Key to success in this class is using study guide and going to tutorials. Book used for class is terrible...(Osberg is co-author.) Prof. Liza Bristow much better prof for this class.

Osberg's lectures were deadly dull. I didn't really benefit from his lectures, aside from a few interesting moments here and there, and I eventually stopped going. You're better off just doing the assignments, reading the textbook, and going to the TAs for help.

Professor Osberg for sure knows his economics, but this class and its content are really dry and boring and so are his teaching style and voice. If this course is not manditory I wouldn't take it, but if it is...try to get Liza Bristow as your Prof. I hear she's a lot better.

Dr. Osberg definitely knows his stuff but he is somewhat difficult to follow, and quite monotone. I got little or nothing from the class itself, and stopped going after mid-term. The exams are definitely fair. If the class puts u to sleep, do the assignments, read the text and you'll do fine. Easy class.

Great teacher. Knows the material very well and is more than qualified to answer ANY additional questions you could have on the subject. He likes student participation and is always availible after class to answer questions. His voice can be a little boring at times but if you are interested in the subject it should not be a problem.

A really nice guy who knows his economics [he helped write the book] but has a monotone voice that makes you zone out and not pay attention. Reminds me of Ben Stine in Ferris Bullers Day Off...Anyone?...Anyone?

I am sure he is very good at economics but the course had something to do with development and I got the impression that he knew very little about that. I found the academic group work just an excuse for not knowing what to teach and maybe laziness as well.

A little bit confusing at times, but he has a slight sense of humour and shows a little bit of personality too! Definitely an easy course - especially if you read the textbook occasionally.
