Heather wants students to learn history and the historiography of the content (hence the disgruntled student who didn't graduate from WSC); this depth of knowledge is VITAL to history. Now in grad school, I wish I'd taken more classes with Heather because her level of difficulty/expectations are the closest to grad school of anyone in the dptmnt

Comment:

Just disorganized and all over the place. Didn't write names of civilizations on the board, just said them in Spanish and expected us to know how to spell them. All over the book too. Syllabus was 2 different packets, and all the dates were wrong. Her emails with deadline dates were wrong. Couldn't teach in blocks when talking about a culture.

Heather is a great lecturer and a great friend. With her help, I was able to get into grad school. Her classes really prepared me for grad level work as well. Whatever you do, don't text or facebook in her class or it's ON!

She is the reason I wasn't able to graduate. I HATED her classes. She was more interested in the philosophy of history whatever that means. She killed my love of history, and I was a history major before I took her senior seminar. She was pretty awful and I am so glad I don't have to deal with her anymore.

I really enjoyed taking Dr. T's class. She has great anecdotes, knows her subject very well, and is very open to helping her students. I wish Western had more professors of her caliber. Classes were tougher than usual but I walked away with more knowledge.
