Heidi is fantastic. She really pushes you to develop and refine your skills even if you do not have formal artistic training. She grades really fairly, and you can really see her passion when she teaches. We Are What We Make is easily one of (if not the best) inquiry seminar that Concordia has to offer. Heidi is fantastic, take her if you can.

Heidi is a wonderful professor. Are her classes easy? Hell no. But that's what makes her so spectacular; she's constantly pushing us to do better, to learn more techniques, and to create art that truly makes a statement. She never censors her students' works. My experiences in class have been great.

She is a bit mean. Don't show weakness in front of her. Take printmaking from her, it's her thing and she does it well. But she's not a great teacher when it comes to other subjects. Very disappointing for drawing.

This is not a oh-I-need-an-art-credit-to-graduate. THIS IS AN ART LOVER'S COURSE. Expect to learn a lot of super cool things in this class, make several pieces of art that you can make copies of for whatever, and have fun. It will be as hard as you want it to be- but not terribly easy if you want an easy A, but not too hard if you just TRY.

You will only dislike her class if you refuse to get your head out of your ass and don't want to learn. If you're taking art because you think it's easy, you shouldn't be taking art. I learned a lot and she got along well with our class. Don't know about photo, but she went to grad school for printmaking and had good advice to give on that.

Heidi is completely awesome! I had her for Beginning Printmaking and she really helped me develop a love for it! I was really nervous for the class, but am so grateful that Heidi was so great. I am definitely going to take intermediate printmaking and drawing with her as well :)

I took her for digital photo, and loved her! I took printmaking, inter. print, and an independent study print. She was critical, which was extremely helpful. She digs deep, and isn't afraid to be honest - has a passion for the craft of printing and art in general. She set the foundation for me to go further with art!

I had her for beginning drawing and though she was very critical of everyone's art she did it to make sure that our pieces were the absolute best that we could do. I thought that she was a very nice professor and lenient on attendance. She is a tough judge, but even if she is telling you to "keep developing" you will get a good grade!

Oh my!!!! Let's just say that it was the worst experience EVER! Drawing WAS one of my favorite things, and I looked forward to taking drawing in college BUT it was a terrible, stressfull, negative LOOONG class. Boring speaker, only she thinks she's interesting. She's still figuring out her stuff, which puts her a good spot to teach. She's opinionated for a reason and improves students' abilities. I like her, and made her my advisor!
