Comment:
Dr Heiko and Dr Her combined to make a very reading-heavy course as well as a lot of memorizing. However, Dr Heiko made it appealing to students by presenting a lot of material as applications, versus brute 'memorize this and that for exam', and was always available for questions considering there was over 300 students in class!

Genuinely cares about his students and wants them to do well. Gives great lectures and his tests are accurate and include everything discussed in lecture. Easily accessible outside of class. Super nice guy and funny! Favorite professor. The class content is tough but he tries to help you to understand

His lectures are amazing. He is super thorough and isnt afraid to take more time on a spot in the lecture that is more difficult. The exams are very difficult and it takes a ton of time and effort and studying to do well because the grading scale is A,B,C,D no + or -. You need a 78% in the class to move onto the next Biol.

You have to read the textbook or at least his notes to understand what he is talking about. If you don't read or prepare ahead, the lecture will be very . However, if you prepare yourself before lecture, the class is actually very interesting. Do go over your notes right after lecture, because there are 5-8 pop quizzes thru out the semester.

This class is passable if you study. You get what you put in. Studying takes discipline. you can only blame yourself for putting in half effort not the class.

This professor is really awesome, super easy to follow during lecture. The exams are literally based off of the lecture. It is a lot to remember but I used quizlet and I studied off of that because this class is all memorization and did pretty well on the exams. Got a B on all of them. It's not HARD, it is just a lot of material.

Great professor, easy to follow. A lot of material but that is expected because this class is a weed-out class. This class was a lot of work but if youre willing to do the work, youll do fine.

I have to admit, this is a very difficult class. However, it's not the professor's fault. He truly does want his students to succeed. His lectures are long and information packed, but pay attention because they're important! Do the reading and study study study!

This was a very difficult class. We went to him at the beginning of the year for help when it came to tests and studying and he offered zero to little help at most. He is very difficult to listen to in lecture, not due to his accent, but being a monotoned speaker. I didn't have any choice in instructor but if I did I would choose someone else.

A&P was definitely one of the harder courses I have taken. His lectures are very good and are basically what is on the test. Our class wasn't doing very well so he emailed us with study tips and was more than willing to answer any questions anyone had in class.

Never take this class unless you have to. Over half the class dropped after their first test because the highest grade was in the mid 60's. I couldn't understand him very well and his test were extremely hard, no matter how much I would study.

He require pop up quizzes in his class which are good for students because then it keeps you on top of your learning material. I looking forward to take more classes with him thorough my bachelors at

I went into this class excited to learn Histology. The assignments are once a week and four or more pages long. They wouldn't be bad if they were from set chapters or let you use the book in order. You end up flipping through the book with no idea what chapters the homework is on. Take this if you have 6-8 hours a week to pull your hair out...

Dr. Schoenfuss was excellent!! I really enjoyed taking this course with him. He does expect you to stay on top of learning the material, because you have quizzes every class period. However, he is very clear cut about what is expected. He was very helpful and never made anyone feel stupid for asking questions or during class discussions.

Course is very difficult due to the material. He gives one extra credit assignment, and each exam also has EXC opportunities. Lots of memorization. Always answered questions, and wasn't rude about it. He wants students to understand. Strict - Don't waste his time. Pop quizzes are given regularly so keep up. Need 65 to pass. No curve on exams.

He is very helpful and knowledgeable. I actually looked up bio classes that he teaches so I could take more classes with him. He very clearly wants his students to do well. It's not an easy A, you have to do the work, but I did get one. He answers emails very quickly and I met him in his office to go over a paper and got very good pointers.

This class is TOUGH, but you get out what you put in. He makes the tests based on his lecture PPTs, so more important to study those than the book. There are pop quizzes & if you miss more than one it can hurt your grade. Going to open lab helps a LOT on the lab exams, and the Mastering A&P site helps as well.
