Incredibly disappointed with this class. She posts discussions, but does not participate or direct them. She is late grading papers, completely disorganized, and when you ask her for her expectations of your work she doesn't respond. If you don't receive feedback throughout the semester how are you expected to improve. Find a different teacher.

The prof is very unorganized; I submitted required paper with midterm, the week final grades are due, she still had not graded it, the day prior I look and she gave me a 65 with no input and very little time to do anything about it. She removed all of her contact information weeks before the end of semester. Strongly advise against using this prof.

Rude and incompetent. The class was a total mess. We were completely uncertain as to what was going for over half the semester. A sociology professor had to take over for her because Schlatterer did not make any announcements or post anything online for over 6 weeks. Her tests did not make any sense and she never responded to emails. Ridiculous.

Unbelievable. Didn't show up for class, rude, nightmare. Didn't give back midterm grades until nearly the final. Grading is impossible because what she is looking for is never what is outlined. Lectures barely reflected the book material. Remember specifics and dates regardless of what she says, they are the material for the tests. AVOID!!!!!

I was really looking forward to this class. Unfortunately I did not realize the professor would be non-existent and that I would be learning everything from the book. So disappointed in her.

For someone who did nothing for the class besides post the syllabus at the beginning of the semester, she thinks much too highly of herself. It was a difficult class in that we had to teach ourselves absolutely everything and then answer test questions that made no sense or did not reflect the chapters we read. Avoid her if possible.

This class is a waste of time and money. I do not know why she is getting paid. You teach yourself everything and then she does not even post her impossible tests on time. While I feel badly that she he had personal problems this semester,if you read the majority of the posts on here you will find that her class has almost always been a disaster.

I disagree with all of the rude comments. I think you are all just lazy and didn't want to read the book. Read the chapters, take notes, and take four tests. There is a 10-15 page term paper but she gives you the assignment second week of class. I love her as a teacher & her political views. Take the class if you wanna earn your grade.

This teacher is awful. She controls your entire grade with one research paper at the end of the Semester, and if she doesn't like you she slams you. She doesn't teach anything that applies to History and she is so disorginized that you want to scream. I got all A's on all of her assignments and she gave me a C on my research paper, I got a B.

She's hard, yeah, but I can't stand history, and she was able to make it interesting. I really respect the way she teaches from the common person's view, instead of just teaching wars, names, and dates. I hated the class at first, but gradually grew to love it. An oral report, short essay, and then a 10-12 page term paper, plus four online tests.

If you want to know if you can cut it in a school like Pitt then you need to take this class. Be prepared to do work in class and on your own. I hardly ever went to this class, read on my own and did well on all the exams. I worked my ass off on the paper the day before, handed in 10/12 required pages and got a B on the paper and in the course.

Her class is hard, but she may be one of the few if not the only teacher at CCAC who teaches at a University level. To do well you WILL need to read on your own, attend, take notes on, and PAY ATTENTION to her lectures. She requires an extremely simple oral report and a very difficult (and long) term paper. If you take this class and succeed you wi

Teacher non existant. Posted only 2 discussion questions when it was online and disussion is 20% of grade. Missing info on assignments and not helpful at all. When she actually did communicate she feels she is perfect and has been best teacher. If I dont pass heads will roll.

Greatest Teacher I've ever had! Yes, she is very tough. She actually used to have a tee shirt in the campus store that read "I survived Dr. Schlatter's class". But she is amazing and really knows what she is talking about. If you want a great history professor and don't mind the work load, she's the best. She formed me into a great teacher!

This professor was worthless! She was MIA all semester and when she finally decided to grade papers, she dished out poor grades. She gave no real direction besides the syllabus and an online power point, posted tests days late and did not grade a thesis that was required to write the final. She didn't have time to approve the thesis but could give a C!

I should have taught myself. She did not post tests when they should have been. Federalist paper from mid semester still not graded, thesis that needed to be approved for research paper, never approved, she never even responded to it. Research paper never graded. If I were unattentive like she has been I would have failed, she should not get paid.

I enjoy history but the experience in this class was intolerable. This was an online class that she showed no interest in. She did not post tests or grade anything in a timely manner and seemed annoyed when questioned about grades. At the end of the semester, there are still no grades for the midterm or the final and no sign of ever getting them.

she is rude and does not care about you, your first day of class she jumps right into the topic and if you didn't read the first chapter your screwed she expects wayyyyyyy too much for some "history" class thats not even apart of my major its just a core class if she is reading this how about you be easy since noone wants to take your class anyways

She doesn't help you at all, and what she tells you to study is never on the test. I failed her class, and I'm taking it over again, and I"ll never take another class with her as the teacher again.
