I am a straight A, 4.0 student. I do my school work and excel in all of my classes, so when I say he makes you work for it, it's true. For our first test, over half the class got a failing grade, myself included. Take my word and take a different professor.

He is an extremely cool guy. The stories are long and hard to understand so going to class in extremely important because he can explain the stories very well. However if you are not a good reader you will NOT do well in his class.

I do not recommend Rogers because he has no set structure.He gives a syllabus that is a guideline at the beginning but it has nothing about when assignments are due, what you are reading, ect.He gave us 2 papers and grades if you do have the same opinion.Basically state verbatim what his opinion is and you get a good grade.

Comment:

Rogers is a very good teacher. He really understands and knows what he is talking about. He is also nice, and tries to get the class involved in discussions frequently. I didn't read a single story (not recommended) and just because I paid attention in class I got a B. He will go over everything that is going to be on the test in class.

I've taken two classes with Dr. Rogers and I love him. He's a great teacher, but specific about what he wants on his tests. If you show up to class, take good notes, and pay attention to lecture - you'll do fine. He does pick favorites. It's better to be on his good side. I'd recommend him.

I absolutely hated his class. Rogers tests are ridiculous and they are the only grades you get in his class. Don't expect help from him in his office because it is pointless to talk to him. If you're not a hot blonde then expect a bad grade. I would definitely advise everyone to stay away from him.

Do no take him, talked about anything but material and spent majority of time talking about England. Knew more about other books than the one's we studied bc he wouldn't stay on track. Nice guy horrible teacher. Couldn't stand it and dropped.

He was a nice guy but I hated the class. He doesn't give percentage grades, only a letter which makes it frustrating to determine where you stand in the class around midterm and the final. Final is not comprehensive. I can't figure out how he grades. I thought a had a great paper that deserved an A but except for one paper, I got a B on everything.

Do Not Take. Took him for senior seminar and unless you are one of his favorites you will not make above a C. If you make a C or a D once, you will make that grade the rest of the semester. He says he will help and has you come to his office to tell you stories about his trip to London. He talks about nothing the entire class. Nice guy though.

I would not recommend this prof. He stood me up for office appointments in order to go to the movies with his wife. He also consistently gave D++ etc.. rather than a C. He acted as though he would help me, we made meeting times, and he never once showed up. Avoid him at all costs!

Mr. Rogers is a great man and a great teacher. His class is tough, but if you read what you are supposed to then you will do well. I never took notes and got an A.. Just write about what he goes over 1,000 times in class. He is interesting also and it's not hard to listen to his discussions.

I took one of his novel courses. He is a challenging teacher, but as long as you actually read what you are supposed to and take really good notes there should be no problem making a good grade in his class. I do recommend skimming over all the material before tests. Pay special attention to detail, because he asks specific questions.

He is probably one of the sweetest men I've ever met - And one of the most passionate about literature. However, his class IS challenging - He grades hard and you definitely have to know your stuff. It helps if you share the same opinions he does.

Very vague. He likes to hear himself in what you write; therefore, make sure you write what he tells you. Also, it is sad to say, but it helps if you are a girl and flirt with him. I would recommend Gaughan for this class instead.

I have taken Dr. Rogers twice. He is awesome. VERY EASY CLASS. All you have to do is show up and take notes. He tells you the story! Just pay attention and if he says it, its important! Tests are a breeze if u listen!
