Comment:

Very boring lectures, little humor, skipped some very important information which we need to know. His notes are fill in the blanks so you have to show up to do good in his lecture, re-uses same examples which is annoying when studying cause you have to flip and find the example that was used.

Comment:

A real solid guy, can be hard to understand at first but after a few lectures it isn't difficult. Makes concepts easy to understand and reinforces them well. Not a lot of studying is necessary to have an adequate understanding of the course material

Comment:

He really knows his stuff and is very very helpful in office hours, but unfortunately has a rather thick accent that makes it hard to understand his lectures. I honestly had a hard time understanding anything that was going on, but stats is sort of awful anyway. The textbook isn't required but I honestly used it more than I went to the lectures.

This professor is concerned about your grades and he is really friendly and helpful. If you have any questions, be free to ask him. His lecture is pretty fast but his slides are easy to catch and understand. He will send quizzes by email and that is pretty helpful. Doing sample tests on eclass is extremely important for tests!

Comment:

Great prof. Has a bit of an accent, but he really cares about his students. Got our midterm marks back and they were lower than he hoped for. So he made a serious effort to make sure we understood the material. Always there to help you out. Would recommend.

Comment:

Very thick accent but after one class you get a hang of how he talks. Gives lots of examples. Cares about your mark. Doesn't teach you how to use the formula sheet though so learn. It helped me wonders on the quite difficult final.

Nice guy, likes to help and tries to get kids engaged. He uploads incomplete notes, you have to fill out examples with him in class. Lectures are pretty dry though.

Always very willing to spend the time to help you one on one. Teaches like he wants his students to actually succeed, a quality far and few between with profs. His lectures are a little dry but that's more content than teacher based. Print out his notes! They're super helpful and make it much easier to keep up in class.

Excellent instructor. Highly methodical; has a highly organized style of teaching. Posts notes & only asks that you print them and bring these to class in order to be able tofollow his lectures attentively without being distracted by constantly having to copy down notes. His midterms are great BECAUSE they are challenging and thought-provoking.

Professor Kolacz ("Kolach") is a brilliant professor. His notes are perfectly adequate. His teaching is superb. His exams are MUCH tougher than the assignments, which themselves are tougher than his class problems. SO PRINT his notes, GO TO CLASS! and write the class problems in your printed class notes (he doesn't post solved problems in his notes

He seems like a very nice professor, and genuinely wants his students to do as well as they can. However, I found his teaching method boring. He posts all his notes online and during class, will read straight off the notes, supplementing them by working through examples. Accent a little hard to understand sometimes. Nice guy, but not very engaging.

Really really nice guy!The class is a little bit hard,but you can get a good mark if you work hard on it.And Kolacz is very helpful and really want to give you a good mark.Email him or go to his office will be helpful,he explains things clearly.Tests are not very hard,questions are similar to the ones he talks about in class.Strongly recommend him!

You can tell this professor really cares that his students do well. Go to class to get the explanations to the examples in his notes. Study the examples very closely! He likes to use the note examples as the long answer questions on his tests! Overall very great professor.

The class is a joke, but Kolacz does try to teach you the course material... It just doesn't work with him. His classes are extremely boring. Attendance is probably not mandatory as his notes are very detailed. Textbook is pointless, although he does post some useful problems using the textbook.Overall, i would recommend him but remember its stats
