Great for a student needing flexible learning. Not great for a student wanting learning assistance. In the 8 week summer course there are 15 quizzes, 3 DB's and a final. For each quiz (and the final) you get 3 shots and your best score stays. If you read the chapter and know the formulas the quizzes aren't too bad. Quizzes 60%/ DB's 12%/ Final 28%

Online course consists of chapter quizzes that you can complete whenever, just before the set deadline. Don't wait until the night before to do all of them, like I did. There are three discussion boards and One Final. Overall decent course, if you're comfortable with teaching yourself out of the book.

I read these going in and I was super stressed.. Turns out SUPER EASY A , I took the winter 8 week course. Do the 10 question Quizzes -3attempts each , Do the DB (only 3 ) and the final - no way you can't pass... If you are taking to just get the GE credits its a good easy class. If you are taking to learn, you will be learning by yourself.

If you can, avoid this teacher as much as you can! He understands economics real well but with his accent and teaching style, it is almost impossible to learn the material work just reading the book yourself. And he speaks so softly and to the board when writing that you cant get what he is trying to explain.

To be fair it was a fast track course and it was online so it was obviously going to be difficult. It was a crazy, huge amount of reading! The quizzes were very difficult for me and the final was very similar to the quizzes. However econ is a difficult subject, No easy way out.

Thick accent, sloppy whiteboard drawings/writing, mind numbingly slow speaking. He barely teaches.. just read your textbook

He either was never in a good mood during class or does not like teaching. He is VERY brilliant, but would almost get frustrated when students didn't understand something. He made us feel stupid sometimes or say we weren't trying. If you are good at this kind of stuff, you'll enjoy him, if not try to avoid him. Also didn't show at his office hours.

Elliott isn't that great of a teacher seeing as he doesn't really teach, at least for the online class that I took. If you do the the discussions and read the book. you'll do fine. He lets you retake quizzes three times.

No feedback on discussions. The only "assignments" were quizzes and the final exam. Used trick questions and students had no idea what aspects of the chapters to expect on the quizzes. Personally, I was disappointed that I did not learn much from this class and will be taking it with another instructor later on.

Really nice, pleasant guy. But neither his lectures nor the book prepare you enough to answer ALL of the quiz and exam questions correctly. They come from the book's author and many are VERY UNFAIR. Your grade will suffer because of it. 3 attempts at each quiz but each one is different. 9 attempts at 3 midterms, each different. 1 in-class final.

Took both econ classes online. Must say it's not too hard for being econ classes. I'm a SBCC student but chose to take his class because I heard good about it from a friend. Got an A in my first class, even tho I had a 80% but I guess the final was curved. He is really helpful every time I emailed him. The book he used is easy to understand & good

The class requires you to be constantly reading. The class explains the most important stuff but I could only fully understand after reading the book. His class is not boring but I often found myself getting distracted, which didn't happen as much in other classes. Still, pretty fair and and overall good class. The teacher is also nice and likeable

My husband and I both took this class, even though he only had the points for a B Professor Elliot gave him a A. Every chapter has a quiz, but you have two chances for each quiz. Also the same with the final exam you get two chances. The book is very boring, but if you HAVE to take this class, this is defiantly the teacher to take is with.

Very important! I suggest you copy/paste the quizzes in Word because he will take it down Chapter Quizzes and you can't review the answers. Majority of the questions is from the quiz so having all the quizzes you did from beginning till end will save you.

This class is not easy, but this professor makes it enjoyable and he is very helpful and professional. If you ask him for help he makes sure to help you. Expect to show up on time (every time) and to pay attention. I respect this professor's work ethic. Very great class.

I took both Econ 101 & 102 with this professor and got A's in both classes. All quizzes tests are online and you have three attempts at all of them and the best score is taken so a pretty fair guy. That being said, while there are plenty of lectures, they lack clarity and I spent the majority of the class teaching myself the subject with the book

He writes his own tests so every question is a trick. It's really annoying when you read a chapter twice and get a 410. Oh and emailing him won't help anything-he's sort of got an attitude.

This class is very hard and he does not prepare us at all. I have not learned one thing from this class. He is very confusing and everything (testsquizzesassignments etc) is on Blackboard so this might as well be an online class. I am never taking this man again. Kind of rude and calls out students on occasion if he feels you lack participation.
