the worst experience i have ever had to deal with. taught NOTHING-just did tons of example problems (that were wrong in simple math and later had to be corrected-so confusing). avoid at ALLL costs. i took calc in high school and still was almost in tears everyday in this class because of frustration.

By far and away the worst teacher I've had at the college. He does not teach clearly and when you ask for him to clarify something he gives you an equally unclear response.DO NOT TAKE HIM!

Did not particularly enjoy the class.He tends to mumble a lot, and has a tendency for getting his own examples wrong that he writes out on the board. Probably was my most boring class.

This is by far the worst teacher I have ever had. This was the worst, most boring class and the biggest waste of my money since I've been at the College. Please, someone take this mans teaching degree. He does NOT know how to teach, rather all he does is write examples on the board, and always makes mistakes. Save yourself, your money, your sanity

awful handwriting, mutters to board/himself, and doesnt TEACH, just does hundreds of examples. his basic math is often wrong, which can be really confusing, and he often leaves out/recopies problems on the board incorrectly...frustrating. sit in the front and ASK QUESTIONS-he's better at explaining ssomething he's already done than teaching it

He's cool, he does make jokes sometimes which his good and he does know what he is talking about and he will help you if you ask for it. His handwritting is kind of bad but you get used to it after a while.

He's a free spirit. He tries his best to get the material across, but sometimes understanding him can be difficult and reading his handwriting is even more difficult. If you have a previous knowledge of Stats, feel free to take him. If you have no clue, go somewhere else.

Total dork. Nice guy, but not personal with his students. He is either very clear or very unclear when explaining things. Goes VERY fast. Do yourself a favor and GO TO CLASS. Missing one day will have you so far behind.

Comment:

Dr. Silverman is an incredibly gifted and intelligent man. If you are serious about mathematics, I strongly recommend taking him. In upper level math courses he is very difficult, but it is good for you:-) If you just want to skate by in higher math, I would recommend someone else.
