DONT EVER take her! especially if u re an esl student, u are most likely going to fail this class. she gives lots of NC's. Most important thing is she doesnt teach at all. If you are stuck with her as I was, remember: Do your essay's EXACTLY as she tells you, follow her structure to the dot! She does not care if you are putting in hard work, she gives a lot of NC. she tells you to get 2 books, you mostly only need the short stories one, DONT GET THE OTHER BOOK. I had to work extremely hard in this class! WORK HARDDD!

Prof. Zlotnick while a tough grader,forces her students to compose quality papers. I appreciated this considering that in most of my other courses,the first question heard after an assignment is announced is; Does spelling/grammar count ? We are in college after all, should we not be able to express ourselves as educated and mature individuals ?

If you miss grade school and like being patronized or condescended to, go for it. She says Children's Lit is a lit class, and that's what'll be discussed. Not so. You'll discuss anthropology or racism, and her version of Oedipus complexes. Also, forget grades. She'll be personally offended if you aren't involved or leave her class too often.
