While Granger is very passionate about the subject he is very sarcastic and actually pretty hostile towards students, insults them for asking questions. He told the class he didn't care whether people passed or not. I would say if you have to take this as a required class, choose another professor that wants the class to succeed and do well.

I liked him, he's definitely not for a student who can't take a joke, clear lectures, fair exams, overall good guy.

Amazing professor, clear lectures/organized. Not an easy grader, but very enthusiastic and loves what he teaches. Would recommend to people willing to put in the work.

He is a good teacher, always happy and nice. This class is boring no matter who teaches it, and I eventually just dropped it and took the competency exam. He is one of the very few teachers that doesn't use e-mail or blackboard though, which is kind of a bummer. Overall, a good teacher, but the material isn't very interesting.

Professor Granger is a good teacher. I am not a philosophy major but I am intrested in learning more about it. His class was easy, it was different. My favorite part of the class was the formal proofs, they were fun for me. Overall, he is a good teacher and funny

Granger acts like things are going to be hard and take a lot of practice but really it's not that hard at all. But yea, Once you notice his style, everything will be a piece of cake. If you have a good TA then you should be fine. Honestly, if you just go to class you won't have any problems. You'll barely have to do any work outside of class.

At first I thought he was something of a pr*ck until I caught onto his style. After that I liked the class. If you "get into it" like he says you will get it. And I'm no PHI major, either. The work is kinda like a puzzle once you understand it. You WANT to do truth tables and start seeing fallacies all around you LOL. Put in an effort and you pass.

I don't understand why people take Philosophy classes for Gen. Ed. credit. Of course you'll dislike the professor and blame him for not making your grade an easy A. Granger is very sarcastic, very enthusiastic about the topic, and above all he asks all along the way if the class understands. He hates technology, so don't e-mail him.

Don't take this class if you're looking to feel warm and fuzzy about yourself. You might even want to reconsider if you're looking for a challenge. My advice, look for someone else. However if you do get him, sit near the front of the class, his handwriting is messy as hell, and show up to EVERY class. Miss one and you're toast.

Prof. Granger is the best professor I have ever had. His use of Socratic method is extremely helpful, and his classes are enjoyable as well. I have nothing but good things to say about his courses.

Students should check out this site as they look for classes. I only wish that I had earlier. I expect a few more contributions to Granger's comments page soon. The first exam should be comming up and certainly by midterm, people will be seeing Granger for what he is-- THE WORST PROFESSOR AT WAYNE.

I'm surprised he still teaches and hasn't retired or been fired. He does make a great effort to make students understand, but Granger fails at doing so. 3/4 of my class dropped and only 1 or 2 of the 12 remaining students got an A. Old G is pretty bad and you should avoid him unless you want to drop or get a D.

He's a very strict professor, which he doesn't give any extra credit questions on exams or anything that can help pass the students to pass unless you won't get out of the classroom and go to the bathroom or getting a drink of water, and to come to class on time 3 days in a row. He's a psycho and insane! Please don't pick him for that class.

Professor Granger is indeed an old school professor. His lectures are highly coherent, however, if you do not pay close attention, you will be lost when he inserts his dry but witty humor. If you do not perform well, its your own fault and not his, as he makes an overwhelming effort to assist you. He prepares study guides that will over prepare as well as making himself accessible to questions outside of class. He also holds respect in high regard.

Fear this one. He's quite difficult. Nearly 2/3 of his students dropped. Granger has simply lost touch with his students and seems locked in his own world. He has no mercy!
