He is very passionate about his subject and is very insightful. If you ask him for help when you don't understand something, he is very helpful. Very fair grader. There were two tests, a short presentation, and a final paper for grades. Just read and pay attention during his lectures and you will do fine.

Dr. Steele is teaching a complicated subject, but he is extremely knowledgeable about it, and if you are up to the challenge you will learn a lot from his lectures. He's very approachable outside of class and wants all of his students to succeed. Take his advice and pre-write the test answers. You will do well on them.

Definitely take him if you can. Attendance isn't mandatory, there's no final, and he basically gives you the answers for everything. This class is designed for non English majors and he is aware of that. As long as you take the effort to read over the notes he provides you, you will get an A.

i had him twice, barely went to class but managed to get an A and a B+. all you have to do is a final paper and a couple tests that you just cram for. good guy who will help. i would take him for another A

The class is easy if you actually do the readings and show up for the review classes before the exam. The prof is a nice enough guy, but the most boring lecturer I've had. Getting through this class was pure torture.

He teaches undergrads like grads and expects you to know "ideas" that you probably are not familar with and do not care too either. Massive reading that is rather boring. Optional attendence is great. He gives you the questions before the test, but they are still hard! Final-you choose paper topic.
