Super easy class. Dr. Devries is a nice guy and pretty lenient on grading. As long as you pay attention and study a bit you should get an A. It's pretty much impossible to fail the class, unless you aren't trying.

He can be really unorganized at times and get tripped up in what he's saying but other than that hes super nice and funny. If you come and listen and ask questions dutch isn't that hard and hes pretty good at explaining the different concepts.

Really nice guy! Very easy going and relaxed, always interested in what students have to say. A tad slow on giving feedback and occasionally slightly disorganized. Is passionate about German, and truly a joy to learn from. Recommended.

Prof. De Vries makes Dutch fun! My favorite class taken at Calvin! Very nice guy and forgiving on assignments if you need it. Will help anytime you need it. Very enthusiastic about Dutch and all of the students love him! If you put in some effort it will be enjoyable...i promise :P

Great guy. Knows his stuff, easy to understand. A tad bit passive aggressive which is weird and can be inconvenient. Some nice suprises like going outside and parties. But all in all hes great, clear and class is very straight forward so do the work, sit back, and relax... youll do just fine.

He is an awesome professor! He tries to make the class fun and helps you when you need it. He's a cool guy who makes Dutch fun. There isn't a lot of homework but sometimes you want to take your time on it so that you know what you're doing. Anyway..I totally recommend him! :)

Easiest class I have taken at college. Like 15 minutes of hw a day. His German is not perfect, sometimes misspells words or mispronounces them. But oh well, take his class to fulfill the LIT core requirement! Easy Easy Easy class
