Comment:

Ms. Benson has been one of my favorite literature professors that I have ever had! She assigns two to three stories each week and expects participation and two short response essays that you can do amazing on IF YOU READ HER EXPECTATIONS. This was such an interesting class! I highly recommend if you are not lazy! BTW, I hated English until her!

Professor Benson requires a lot of reading, reading material interesting and makes you think. She gives feedback on your papers. Quick grader. Paper due weekly but only 250-300 words. Class very easy if you keep up with your reading assisgnments

She was amazing. I got a C but that is because I forget the assignments that are due. If you work full time and go to school full time, this isn't for you. She is VERY easy. She tells you what's on the exam. 30 minute time limit with I think 30 questions. I'd take her again. No complaints here. She is very caring and is willing to work with you.

She will flip-flop on grading consistency. You really are not sure what she wants at any given time. She has misspellings all over the place. You put a comma in the wrong spot and she will take 10 points off your grade. Make sure you participate on the EXACT days that she wants you to post in discussion boards. You will get 10 or 33 points off.

Prof Benson is very nice and she is helpful if you have any questions. I would not recommend taking her solely based on her exams. 50 question 30 min time limit and they are incredibly in depth. I studied for this class more than A&P and still ran out of time on the comprehensive final, which covered 25 authors and several of their short stories.

Prof Benson is very willing to help and detailed in her lessons. You must be a skilled writer to do well in american lit. She is not the easiest grader, but you get the hang of her writing style quickly. Her tests, especially the first one, was difficult. I went to study soup for some pre made reviews and did great in her class.

Professor Benson is an excellent instructor to take online. Expectations are very clear and she provides helpful feedback week to week. All you must do is read the material and complete simple weekly assignments. YOU WILL NOT DO WELL IF YOU DO NOT READ. The tests are very precise and leave little room for BS-ing. Readings are on blackboard.

This is a Lit class so reading and critical thinking is mandatory. Anyhow, she is an amazing teacher who really gives you good feedback to become a better writer for the short analysis paper you do each week and the tests are pretty much from the stories if you READ them, made a well earned "A" and loved the stories I read each week, take her!!!!!

Being that it was a Lit class, there is obviously lots of reading. However, Ms. Benson is always clear (if not, always able to clarify) and responds timely to e-mails. Hands down, the best professor I've ever had. If I could clone Ms. Benson for all my other classes, I would.

She is hands down one of the best Literature teachers I've had. Mrs. Benson will go above and beyond to teach you wonderfully well, and grade your fairly. She is a very understanding, and compassionate teacher. I was working full time, with a kid and I still managed to get a Good grade in the class. I loved this class. She is the best.

Prof Benson is an awesome teacher. I took her online Literature 2328 class. She communicates very well and grades quickly. I would take her again in a second. The first couple of weeks are the hardest as you are getting used to writing pargraphs within a 250 word limit. Only downfall is her tests.There is a time limit, 30 minutes for 50 question

I absolutely hate this class with a passion. This class makes up 3 online class put together. You have to write HER way. When she commented on my work, it was not nice. I thought teachers were suppose to be encouraging? No I felt she put me down. I work my butt off for school, but this teacher by far is one of my top worst teachers in college.

A very judgemental person. Her grading is very hard to comprehend. I used her own word for word examples on an essay and she STILL marked it gramatically incorrect. Terrible professor, stay away from this one!

Well, I'm sure she's a wonderful teacher. However, if you have a hard time keeping up with assignments like me, I do not recommend her. She tends to use the site's email a lot to post assignments instead of using the provided section on the distance learning site. I've addressed my issues to her and she got snippy. Read her orientation carefully.
