This was not an easy class. She asks questions on the tests that don't matter (like-how many sentences were in a poem). Don't take it unless it's required for your major.

I had her years ago for virtually every class she offered on poetry. I later became a teacher myself; when I did, it became even more apparent how masterful of an educator she is! Dr Holladay was a treasure to have as an undergraduate and has had an indelible impact on my poetry.

Very nice but she is tough. You must keep up w/ the work and take the class seriously to succeed. Do not expect A's in her class, because they are rare. Yet her classes are fascinating and worth the effort, especially for English majors. Critical, especially with papers, but all of her comments are valid and fair even if they are tough to take.

Well, as interesting as this class was...it's not easy. She grades really hard on papers, and I got first bad grade on a paper in her class (actually it was one of the highest in the class). Also, she asks useless things on the tests, (ie. date of birth, etc. about authors). I wouldn't recommend taking unless you need this class for your major.

She's a great teacher--very personable and willing to help. She has high expectations, but makes you want to up your game. She's great at asking questions that will fuel a good debate or class discussion. She's my advisor and will see me in the parking lot and ask me if I need any help before I have to go find her.

She's a really good teacher. Has high expectations, but is fair and allows a fair chance for one to learn her ways of teaching. As long as the material she gives is read, one should be able to do well enough in her class. Only negative things are that of outside class requirements. I give her an A-

I found she did not care for the students who were not lets say earthy crunchy. I was just out of the service with my crew cut and I think she took offense that her granola posse were not as intelligent as she thought they were. Always sick too blowing her nose. She should take better care of hersel

She really knows her stuff. She asks awesome questions that make you really think. It's nice to be in a class where people actually want to have a discussion. She exposed us to interesting authors like Kerouac and Plath. I'm taking another class with her.
