His lecture notes are very long and he expects you to print them out (he won't give them to you). He mostly just yelled at us saying "You need to KNOW this!" especially at the beginning of a new topic (he expected us to know everything already). He definitely is willing to help if you need it. He gives "pop" (essentially announced) quizzes.

materials was kind of a general class. Soils is kurup's expertise, guy was awesome. one of my favorite classes very clear and brings challenges to the class. He also does a TON of example problems during class, and is always willing to give private extra help if you go to his office. Great guy, very intelligent.

Good professor, gives handouts, everything you need are in them. The test are just like the hw and pop quizes. The pop quizes don't count though they re just top reaper for the quiz. If you need help he will help you. 2 test plus final. Weekly hw

One of the best professor in the engineering department. His exams are pretty much the same as the hw so stsy on top of it. Helps alot and explains everything perfectly

Prof. Kurup is the man! He rules in materials and was really good in Grad soils classes. He is fair with assigning workload and test grading. As with most classes, if you show up and ask questions you will learn something! I work as a geotech eng in Las Vegas and use much of what I learned in Prof Kurup's classes.
