Dont listen to anyone that says this class is easy. Treat it like you would your hardest class, and make sure you know everything well. Office hours are not effective and you will feel rushed. Lectures are great, and a better place to ask questions. Tests are the hardest easy test youll take. The paper is harder than you think. Book is confusing.

This is my second time taking Dr. Byrd, he's the reason I became a chemistry major, and he's there if you need him. He is a little more serious with the upper level classes, but overall is really cool. You'll learn so much from Dr. Byrd, and you don't have to worry about being unprepared for a class, because he will cover everything down to basics!

Dr. Byrd is one of the best professors at the university. The test questions are very similar to the homework he assigns out of the textbook. He is super helpful during office hours and at the review sessions. He gives a ton of definitions to memorize for the test, but only a few will be on there. Mildly hard lab quizzes every week.

Dr. Byrd is the best professor I've ever had. He clearly covers all test materials and gives homework problems that are very similar to test questions. If you do your part by going to class, doing the homework, and studying your notes, there is no reason you shouldn't be successful in his class. He is also extremely helpful during office hours.

I took Dr. Byrd Fall of 2015, and totally forgot to leave a review. Dr. Byrd inspired me into chemistry. He made me earn what I got, and definitely pushes students to learning the material. Go to class, ask questions, and see him after class to get the most out of it, and you will get an A no matter what. Thank you Dr. Byrd for all you do!

I skipped Chem 101 & went straight into this harder course, & I have never understood Chemistry BETTER! He's a great teacher who is very passionate about his subject. We get quizzes every lab day (which are SUPER easy - labs are the same way). No memorizing formulas, no pop quizzes, he even tells you what will be on the test (NOT multiple choice).

Dr. Byrd is a great professor. If you give him full attention and put in 100% effort, you will learn a lot from him. You can't skip class and you must study. His exams are hard but he gives you questions in the book that he models his exam questions after. He has very clear office hours that he posts on his door. I plan on taking him in the future.

Professor has tenure and his presentations skills are strong. He does not like to be questioned in his office, even though he works hard on the "open-door" policy perception. He is a first year chairman and that might be why he appears easily annoyed by open office hour visits. I believe I might have pulled an A had he been more patient.

Pretty good, I always get an annoyed vibe from him when I go to his office hours for help though. Tests and quizzes are hard, never really let's you know what to study exactly.

Dr. Byrd's Chem 100 was an awesome surprise. I definitely recommend him for all BA candidates. He understands that no one taking the 100 level class really likes or cares about chemistry, but he makes it fun and worthwhile! There's no reason for someone to make less than a B in his class if they go to class, lab, and review sessions.

WONDERFUL teacher! He helped me to actually understand chemistry when all others had failed. He will bend over backward to help you. If you attend class and do the homework, the exams are a piece of cake. He's very involved in the labs as well and makes them fun.

Dr.Byrd is an AWESOME chemistry professor. I enjoyed his class very much!! He is always very helpful with the questions you have. The test is not hard at all if you comprehend the homework questions and the lecture. He explained chemistry clearly. The class is not boring at all. I would love to take his class again!
