Comment:
Howard has been one of my favorite profs even though I often thought that the workload was unreasonable. Overall, he's a good prof if you're willing to put in the effort; exams and big papers were fair and quizzes were pretty easy. I wouldn't suggest taking his LIT courses w/ other heavy classes, but if you can devote the time, it's worthwhile.

Dr. Tinberg is an amazing Professor, at least for ENG101. There are weekly assignments, which you get a 100 point citizenship grade just for posting on time + the grade of the actual assignment. Assignments are clear. If something is not clear, he is easily accessible outside class and answers emails quickly. 4 major writing assignments. No final

Dr. Tinberg prepares you for writing in college. You write weekly for his class, and he expects you to reflect and improve. If you are thoughtful and follow the checklists for each assignment, you will be fine. Dr. Tinberg genuinely cares about all of his students and gives them the tools to succeed. This is one professor you want to impress.

Dr. Howard Tinberg has you write a lot, if he sees you put in effort there is no reason you can't excel in this course. Most of the time, students want the "easy" professor but if you plan to go to school for a lot longer this class can help prepare you to become a better writer. He is very accessible via email and extremely understandable.

Dr. Tinberg does give a lot of assignments, but it's all there from the get go. No surprises. No midterm. The final is the final drafts of your 4 major assignments. Short assignments weekly. He doesn't overkill the reading. Switches it up with different types of media. Available after class to explain things in greater detail.

Tinberg is a good Professor! If you like writing, take his class. You will write 4 essays, the longest one is 4 pages, its really not bad at all. There is a lot of work though, lots of short assignments. Some reading from the textbook, some videos to watch. He is a tough grader but if you put the effort in, youll be fine (: I recommend his class!

Professor Tinberg has a dry personality, lectured throughout the whole entire class without stopping and can be saracastic. As long as you complete the blogs online every week and complete assignments, you'll be fine.

Everything is posted on your blog, you spend class talking about due assignments and nothing else, the questions for the assignments barely makes sense. dont reccomend taking this class unless you teach yourself.

I took his honors seminar in the Holocaust and it is a very difficult course. Often entire books will be assigned to be read in a week along with writing a journal that corresponds. This specific course requires a lot of work but Prof Tinberg is very dedicated and willing to help. Would highly recommend his classes.

Classes are spent describing assignments that are due. I feel like you need a strong writing foundation in order to successively complete assignments. Feels like the teaching aspect is completely left out, have to learn outside of class. Way more complex than a 101 class should entail. Take his class at your own risk. Nice person, bad teacher

I would not recommend taking his class. He has you set up blogs and you have 6 papers to write. He assigns you a partner to read each other's papers and then grades you on your written opinion, that's ridiculous. His comments are never clear, and it is beyond hard to get an A on any assignment. Book isn't used much, I would try borrowing one.

Everything is done online. All your projects are done online and posted publicly so your class can see whether the professor liked your essay or not. I did not enjoy this as sometimes he can write rude comments, he also makes you write back and comment on others work. can be very confusing at first but once you get used to it its not terrible.

I hated this class. The assignments never made any sense and we had to write "journals" about chapters in our books. He also is the toughest grader and is indecisive. He gave me a C because I used bullets instead of paragraphs so the next paper I used paragraph form and he told me I needed to use bullets. Do not recommend whatsoever.

He was an awesome professor. If I had the opportunity to take him again I would. He loves what he does and his class is so organized. It's a lecture class but a lot of online work and a lot of printing. Six essays and one big final project. Overall good class if you're willing to put in the work.

This class was tough especially due to the fact that it is a higher level class, but he cares about the quality of the work. Not just getting it done. If you do your reading and your discussion work, you will pass.

Dont get on his bad side. He hold things against you and will give you a lower grade than you should. He not helpful in class an will tell you "You are doing great", But if you speak to him after class that when his truthful. His is an okay teacher, but I personal do not recommend him.
