Comment:
She might be the worst professor I've ever taken for an online course. She overwhelms students with her time consuming assignments and difficult exams (each one is 50-60 questions long). Her summary project has little to no guidelines but she expects us all to know exactly what to do. Tough grader. Not overly friendly in emails. Expensive textbook.

Took her for an online course and it was terrible. Have to spend a ridiculous amount of $$ on a textbook, just to access the online material of it. Assigns an egregious amount of work each week, including 25-35 HARD questions for each textbook chapter. Her tests were all 70-90 questions. Pointless class to offer online and too much work.

Great professor, makes you work for your grade. Attend class, keep open window of communication, ask questions take notes, study put in the work and go over the material and all will be well. If youre looking for an easy A, its not here. If youre looking to actually remember what youve learned, shes it.

I took her for a summer class and it was so hard. 1 quiz, 2 lab manual tests, and 5 paragraph questions a week to be done. Plus 4 Exams between 50- 80 question on each. She grades papers late so it takes forever to know what you have gotten. I honesty didn't take in much information because there is too much to take in. Beware and goodluck!

I did not feel that my critical thinking was being challenged, rather, my ability to 'properly' organize the way I structured content was being challenged. I felt like my work was being micro-managed and my own way of learning was being stifled because of it. I'm deeply disappointed in Mary True's ability to teach.

Very harsh grader. Does not return reports back before the next is due - so prepare to get a similar grade on both due to zero feedback. Discussions are unfairly graded and expectations are not clear. Wording for questions on labs is vague. The convenience of an online lab science isn't worth the headache- suck it up and take a class on campus.

She was terrible, rescheduled trips every week and then failed students because they could not fit their schedule with her "redundant rescheduling". She was a personable professor, but not a good one.

Unoriginal and boring overall. Reads off power points every lecture class with no outside input; basically copies word for word from text book. Did not seem very knowledgeable about the subject (Ecology) maybe it was her first year teaching it (?) Test were very detailed about numbers/ percentages. Although she does drop the lowest everything.

I don't suggest the hybrid micro class unless you are taking it by itself. A lot of reading, and jumping back from BCC's ANGEL site, to the Mastering Micro site. Confusing at times. Don't even bother asking her for help.

I absolutely loved taking classes with Mary True this semester! I took her Coastal SCience class as well as her Micro class this semester. She is not an easy teacher but she is very understandable! She was always there to help or in the office. If you do the work, study, and put effort in you will get an A like I did.FYI Field trips were a blast!

She's a very good teacher, knows her material. Gives bonus points for certain things she gives out and from jeopardy to review for tests. Can be monotone, but she's not so bad.

Took an online oceanography. Lots of work and assignments, very strict due dates and times, tons to micro manage as far as posts, etc. Requirements are high but she's a great teacher and a really nice lady! I'd definately want to take a class with her again.

She requires a lot from her students. I took an online course, so she makes herself available a lot on chat, but wasn't really helpful. I hated the Investigation manual stuff. That's the hardest (a lot of inferences) and she wasn't very helpful telling me to "try your best" -__-

I took her for Micro, and had to take A&P1 over again, and I got an A in both classes. If you pay attention(which is extremely diffucult because both she and the material are boring!)take notes, and follow the powerpoints you'll do fine! It still requires a lot of studying, but she's way better than other teachers at BCC. I know from experience!

Compared to the other A&P professors I have had, she is a very good teacher. She explains everything well. Attendance is a must, missing once class can hurt you.. theres so much info. If you study & pay attention you will do fine. I recommend her!

Mary True is one of the best teachers at BCC, as you can tell by her classes filling faster then others in the science department. She is stern when she needs to be and is otherwise very fair and helpful.Micro is the most difficult and time consuming course I have ever taken, but if you do the work there is no way to fail. The class was fascinating
