I'm honored to say that I was the last student to study and graduate in Asian history under this professor. I've taken everyone of his classes and can say that he is an amazing man who knows more languages then I knew was possible. I have used every bit of info he taught me. And yes, I've heard every one of his stories...20 times

Wonderful speaker, could listen to him for hours. The way he lectures allows you to easily imagine yourself there in the past. Willing to work with and for the students. A gift to the department and university.

Comment:

One of the greatest storytellers in the entire university. Could spend an entire 2.5 hour class telling stories about his own life, if you let him. And the stories all relate to the material! Great linguist, knows serveral languages. Glad to have had him as a professor and mentor.
