Terrible teacher, by far the worse prof.... if you consider him a prof. Very sexist, if you're hot consider yourself already passed. He will make your life a living hell, he marks very unfairly and nothing he teaches is relevant.

A great professor and person all around! Him and Jeanette will make life so much easier but they also expect you to do your due diligence as a student. Ian and Jeanette are well respected and very knowledgeable in their fields. (show up and participate in discussion!) 5/5 rating.

Good instructor but his marking is very hard. Also, who make people write an essay final in geology? I've never been in a geology class where everyone is okay with getting 50s. Just passing made everyone happy. Ending class average? 59%

Overall, he is a great prof when it comes to teaching you what you need to know and having an organised class. The thing that made me mark lower is that he misleads you to study important things for finals and midterms and then asks completely random questions. Very hard to show what you have learned in this class by the mark you receive

He is a cutie, but his exams make me want to cry. His lectures are bearable because his accent keeps it fun, but I found his midterm and final to be unfair. I studied my notes diligently and still only got a 58. I'm just glad it was all multiple choice. And thank God for the labs. Major lifesaver

Dr. Coulson is a very fun teacher. His class notes are simple and straight forward. His exams are not too difficult- He has compassion on you because he knows you have to study for the lab midterm and final. Finally, a down to earth teacher!

Half the stuff we did in this class was a throwback to elementary school. Lab was a gong show-so easy. Coulson was boring. Easy, but very boring. Exhibit A:3 terms(Flow, Slide, Fall)=40 minutes. I wanted to shoot myself that class. Notes hard to follow.

Take Geo102 from SOMEONE ELSE! Half the questions on the final were things that we never discussed in class. He is too quiet, and communicates poorly. He may know his stuff, but didn't help US to know it. Try testing students on what you TAUGHT US!!!
