She is willing to explain concepts in English if needed,is an extremely fair grader (get one grammar rule wrong, she will only take off one point rather than every time you repeat it), takes interest in her students. Sometimes it seems like a lot, but she encourages you to let the mistakes happen, so that she or someone else can fix them. Helpful!

Will force you to learn german but very constructive and helpful. Her critisism is very stereotypically blunt. Take everything she says as an honest evaluation.

I may be biased since I am now taking my fourth class with her but she is easily the best and most caring professor I have ever had the pleasure of learning from. Get ready to work and get ready to learn something. She gives you no choice and that makes her the best.

Of the 5 foreign language profs I've had, Nimmrichter is without a doubt the best. It is extremely obvious that she cares about students, and their critical thinking with foreign language/German skills. Her class is pretty tough, though. Be prepared.

Had I stayed at Millersville, I would have really looked forward to taking more classes with her. Loved her as a teacher. Did everything she could to help students learn. She and professor Shields (in the English department) are certainly gems at Millersville.

Hardest German class I have ever taken in my life. She is a very nice person and will do her best to help you but I failed some stuff because her grading is ridiculous. She will take points off of almost everything and will expect you to never make the same mistake again. Nice lady but I never worked so hard for any class

She was a very good professor! She kept the class was interesting and captivating. Tests are from workbook pages that she assigned for homework- so do the homework. Was a breeze for me whom took 4 years of german before. If you've never took the language before, she is very eager to help you learn!

Wonderful professor! Funny and keeps things interesting. I really liked her and I wish I could take her for 102. 2 short papers (in english) and tests are taken from workbook and class exercises.

I took this course after coming back from Marburg so that I could keep up with my oral German skills. I found my interest waning during class - until I just chatted with my "neighbor." As long as you're using German, she's okay with that. Very helpful and concerned about you as a person. Love classes with Nimmrichter!

Of all the good German professors and instructors I've had, she is the BEST. Amazing! Incredibly knowledgeable, always curious to learn more, knows how to teach, has a great sense of humor, has high expectations, and truly cares about her students.

The fact that she is a native speaker of German is a plus, but she seems to overstructure her class -there is little room for learning anything other than what she has planned, and students are never asked to read the text in class. She tends to deduct a large number of points for tiny mistakes, but she is a GREAT person and a VERY good professor.

Nimmrichter is wonderful! She keeps things lively, and always has plenty for you to do during the class period. The only problem I have with her is that she seems to insist on group work. For some, that might be a good thing, but I prefer to work independently. She's big on email, and answers your questions quickly. She likes wikis too.

Professor Nimmrichter is my favorite professor. I absolutely love her classes; they're the reason I get up in the morning! She demands a lot, yes, but it's through these demands that you will learn. If you don't want to learn, consider taking a class with Hopkins. Nimmrichter's classes are for getting down to business, but you have to something

I've had her for German as an undergrad, grad and for methods. She is a terrific teacher. No, She is not going to just give you the answer because you're an adult and should be able to figure out on your own how to look something up. This is something you should be doing for your students as well. She treats everyone fairly, regardless of your lang.

Dr. Nimmrichter is probably the best professor I ever had, both as an undergrad and a grad student. I have learned a lot from her and it amazes me how well her students receive her. She has a great sense of humor and is great at getting information across to her students on their level!

Do not take her seminar class; I have no clue why she's teaching it. She doesn't know what she's talking about, and if it doesn't relate to Germany, then it doesn't matter. She's rude, hostile, and I am guessing took on too many classes this semester, and feels our Freshman Seminar class is the most unimportant. This woman need to stop teaching!

I absolutely hated this class....she doesn't know what she's doing...and if you ask her a question, she tells you to go look it up and answer the question yourself...she's anti-anything that isn't german, and doesn't grade tests very fairly either...I think she should stick to teaching german and german related subjects.
