You can miss 4 classes a semester and youll need to bring your textbook everyday. Most kids struggle learning katakana and hiragana at the beginning so heres my secret to success. Download Tiny Cards or any other flash card based app and learn from them. I did this 2 weeks before the start of the semester and was always considered ahead by sensei

You will learn a lot of material at a fast pace, and it's crucial to not fall behind. The tests as you get higher up, get more and more difficult, but the weight of the class helps keep things on an even keel if you are really trying hard. Sensei appreciates effort more than perhaps actual results and scores, so work hard and you will do fine

She is very nice but her attendance policy is harsh. It's so you don't fall behind in class and she makes it easy for you to make it up. It is a class worth taking!

If you're not a teacher's pet type of student, watch out. She will grade you on how much you need to rely on her. Even if you do well on everything, she will drop your grade for not putting in extra effort to stand out and talk to her and ask questions that you already know. Make sure you're on top of attendance, because she will lie to you if you

She is great! Very nice, extremely helpful, yes her attendence policy is harsh, but only b/c she knows you will be left behind if you miss a day, and she's willing to let you make up missed days with a small presentation too. The only thing is that when you get help from her, sometimes she has a difficult time making it easier to understand for you, but there are so many T.A.'s to help you out also!
