Dr. Chen is a genuinely nice person and an extremely accredited professor; he really knows his stuff. I'm not entirely sure why he has such utterly stellar reviews, though. The material is incredibly bland and he spits it out lighting fast. It is a struggle to pay attention and note-take effectively. You must earn your grade in this class.

He was not a terrible professor, but I disliked the structure of his exams very much. I took away something from the class which is the most important part of the class, but also was hoping to perform better than I did. Oh well not an OSM major so I am done!

It is easy to find fact-based carrying great knowledge professors but Dr. Chen adds a twist by incorporating current issues of "real world" scenarios. I not only learnt about technical knowledge but also gained great understanding of why companies make certain decisions. His class is a bit tough but you will feel great afterward. 10% of your grade is attendance. You are only graded on test (75%) and quizes (15%). HW is not graded. Geat lecturer knows his stuff, but this class for me was not as easy as Bus-201/Osm-202. He also offers extra credit on two of the three tests he gave.

He's a very nice guy and really tries to help students to do well. He always tries to answer questions as clearly as possible. You have to do the homework to do well in his class. Attendance isn't mandatory but he gives notes in class that you won't get from the power points alone. He curves.

Amazing professor with significant knowledge in Supply Chain. Willing to help students whenever needed and cares greatly for students success. I recommend Dr. Chen if you truly want to learn the material or if you are a Supply Chain major. Good luck.

I loved Dr. Chen's class. I don't think I'll use the concepts much, but I;m definitely more knowlegeable for having taken the class. Because of the RNC, we had a take at home test, and we also got a take home quiz. I got a B in the class, and I'm smarter for knowing the information passed. Dr. Chen is a wonderful Professor.

Amazing professor for OSM 311. Although I am not an OSM major, I enjoyed this class. Professor Chen is thorough about his knowledge. Makes the material easy to learn. His multiple choice questions in the test are a bit tricky. Fair grader.

Very nice teacher. Class was boring if you are not OSM major, the material won't interest you. Have a hard time hearing/understanding him so I recommend sitting near the from. Attendance is not mandatory, and tests were very hard for me. If he sees you improve he will give you a better grade than you intended to have. I would recommend taking him!

I really never found OSM interesting until I took this course. He's extremely enthusiastic about the subject and makes the material abundantly clear. You must go to class and do the homework to do well. Additional reading from the book can be helpful but not always necessary. Ask questions if needed, he's very responsive to them.

It was refreshing to have a prof that was as into his field as Chen was into OSM. My advice: destroy the first exam as the last two are significantly harder. He's very fair in his grading though, and always willing to help if you ask. He breaks the material down and makes it easier to comprehend. Read the articles as they're often bonus on tests.

Chen is an Operations whiz!! But his class has a ton of material!! I learned the hard way that you NEED to go to class. Learning on your own will be hard. His exams are HARD and uses material from lectures not in the book sometimes. DO THE HOMEWORK! DO THE REVIEW!! You'll be OK. He's lenient with grades if you improve over the semester.
