Easiest class on campus. 2 books required. I bought neither & got B's on the midterms & final with a 5 minute note cram before each. Handwriting is a bit of a John Hancock but if you manage to understand her (its not hard)& copy everything on the board, you're set. 8 pg paper due @ end of quarter. I wrote mine 3hrs before w/o books & got an A.

Find another teacher if you can. Her class isn't a smooth sail like others and requires you to read and listen in class. Grading scale is a bit unfair (you have to do good on the first two midterms out of 5 in order to get a B in the class). Has a slight accent. Textbook is required if you do not pay attention in class. Overall, class was ok.

When she writes on the board, her handwriting looks something along the lines of hieroglyphics, an elephant's self portrait, and a stroke victim's last words. She outwardly uses students in her examples, and makes them extremely uncomfortable (about their ethnicity, gender, etc.) - especially if you are sitting in the front of the class.

Great teacher. She's a little elderly lady who has fun surprising you with open minded discussions that actually make you think. Class consists of mc exams, 1 paper, some videos. Super easy because she literally tells you what is going to be on the test, make sure you take note of it. My friend had trouble understanding her accent, but a nonissue.

Most horrid teacher! like information is good but her way of lecturing and teaching is horrible. She is rude and mean to student. She also treats people like little kids.

Professor Coddington is really nice! Her lectures are what the exams are based on. If you attend lectures and take notes, you'll be fine on the exams! She is a little hard to understand, so I suggest to sit in the front. Note: she does go on and on about globalization, so be prepared.

She's a pretty nice teacher in terms of her attitude in the class but her lectures are incredibly boring! I aced most of her midterms. All you need to be a is good note taker and you'll do well. You don't have to even read the book to pass the exam.

Coddington can be difficult to follow, so it's important to be awake for the class. She doesn't speak very loudly, and since the tests are all on the lectures (little to nothing from the book), it's important to make sure you sit where you can hear her. She encourages discussions and debates throughout the class. Overall, good but challenging.

Took her class a year ago. Great teacher! Clear information, good use of textbook, tests are based on lecture notes that she writes on the board so it's really easy to follow her. Attend class, take good notes, participate in discussions in class and you'll get an A. She truly shows interest in her students. One of the best teachers at De Anza!

Sweet lady, & so very sweet. I can tell that unlike alot of other teachers, she really wants her students to do well. She makes Outlines that cover what she will talk about in class. The only sucky thing is that all she grades are tests & the group paper.

She's soft-spoken so I would sit at the front if I were you. Lectures can be boring but they're based on the exams. Read all the assigned chapters from the textbook as well. It's not hard to get a B or an A if you just do the work and study your notes. Speak up in class for an extra 5 bonus points!

Great class! Just write down her class lecture notes, look them up in the book, remember the answers, and you will get an A on every test. She goes off sometimes about globalization, but she really means the best. Must go to class!

She's super nice! Kind of quirky, but really helpful. Themes the course content on current issues. Multiple choice tests. Took it for summer q, very relaxed.

The material studied in class kept my attention more than the teaching style of this professor. She often failed to successfully help students understand the material and relayed the topics covered in class through lecture only. If you are disciplined enough to study on your own in addition to reviewing notes taken in class, take the class.

So shes a funny lil old teacher. She has lot's of knowledge and keeps you interested but her accent is so hard to understand. Her words sound like they roll off her tongue and crash haha. I digest 70% of her lecture. She jumps around a lot. Simple if you study notes and some handouts.Reading helps. She seems easy. 3 exams. 1 paper =) Listen well.

The first class I attended, I was very engaged and thought this class was a good fit for me. Over the course of the next few weeks, I discovered how opinionated this professor is. The vast majority of what she lectures on are her own personal beliefs. Her tests are based on these lectures, not the book. I lost interest quickly and do not recommend.

If you cannot understand thick accents and terrible handwriting, take a different teacher. I didn't even buy the book because she strays so far from it that is doesn't even matter. She even tells you to just read the notes and not the book. She gives you information but threads her own views into it so much so that you forget what the lecture wason
