Comment:

Don't take this class, unless its last resort/desperation. Has hearing problems, you can yell and she won't hear(not exaggerating). Expects you to know Japanese, speaks to you like you should know the language already. Doesn't teach AT ALL, only gives you material. Worse teacher I've had. But, she is sweet. Easy A, frustrating/horrible 4 months.

She is kind & sweet; however being kind does not mean your are a teacher who can teach a new languages... She often uses you don't listen as a reason why your scores might be lacking... If you can get past her hearing problem & weak memory... You will surly pass...

I liked Sensei Jones. While she may be out of it over all, if you are a self motivated, independent learner, she's great. If you READ the text, not just copy it, you'll learn. Her lectures are often "outlines" and lacking, but she has TA's around for more clarity. DO NOT take this class if you cannot study on your own.

This was an extremely easy class. This professor makes a lot of mistakes, can't hear very well, and forgets things every day, but she is super kind and easy to work with. Always willing to answer questions. She had a TA that was very helpful. He said memorize the alphabet asap and everything else is becomes easy.

This teacher is really easy. She is perfect for anyone who has motivation, determination, and does self studying. Homework is not checked unless you ask her to, and there are no strict due dates. To me, that removes a lot of stress, building my motivation further.

She teached nothing but handwriting. She can't remeber everyone's name through the whole semester. If you take her class DO NOT HAND IN THE HOMEWORK ON TIME!!! Because she'll never remember anything and keep asking for it even though you already handed it in. Just email it the last day of the semester.

Horrible! If you really want to learn the language. DO NOT take take this professor. Will not answer questions. Does not understand your questions. Confuses herself when trying to help others. Easy A but you won't understand the language at all. This class was more of a refresher for those who knew Japanese, for those who didn't were SCREWED!

she is not good at teaching, impatient, cant hear, has problems, scary looking, and doesnt understand english very well, but its easy to get an A. This class is for those who dont want to learn that much and just want to get an A. Shes very sensitive into other people's lives so if u kinda dramatize ure life she'll fall into it and give you an A.

I admit Sensei Jones is not for everyone. Sign up for a different professor if you want to be safe. That said, I was very fond of her. As a person she was quite deep. It is a shame to see so much bad feedback about this professor, but I can not deny that I would have learned more with another professor. Gomenasai, sensei.

She is by far one of the worst teachers I've ever had. She won't answer your questions, she sleeps in class, jumps around too much, etc. It's as if she just gives you a textbook assignment and expects you to know what the hell it says without any help. I think she should be placed in a different department. What a waste of money this class was.

Was really interested in learning japanese until I started taking this class. She is impatient at times, always seems hard of hearing, will "steal" your pen/pencil, and seems genrally out of it at times. only 2 good things about this class the study sessions at Starbucks on Fridays,and the cute & nice TA. I'll be really lucky to survive this class.

This is just an awful class. "Dr" Jones cannot hear you and will not help you. She is rude to her students and can be mistaken for insane! However it is possible to get an A in this backwards class, I did, I still don't know how. But avoid it at all costs!!

Like others have said so truly, she cannot or will not hear you, so forget getting help. Even if she hears you, she is no help. Japanese is not a hard language, but it will seem like rocket science without a good teacher. Avoid Jones at all costs, I'm serious. She is plain USELESS.

I know, she has some kind of problem.. but..her lecture is fine. don't complain! just try hard. i think, everyone just excuse .. if you try hard, you can have an A she is not stupid , she look just strange.. she is good teacher. Don't try talking to her. She can't hear. Don't try asking her question, she won't answer it. You have to study mostly on your own. Focus on the grammar and vocab. If you do that...u'll hopefully get a B. She makes Japanese so much harder than it should be. She is a good person. She just shouldn't teach.
