Professor Padavic is amazing! her class is super engaging and she is very fair. She assigned one paper and it was pretty easy and straight forward. If you go to class the exams are very manageable. I wasn't great about doing the reading and I still did well. She's one of the best professors in the department.

Attendance helps a ton with exams! Definitely recommend going to class but nevertheless this class was super interesting and engaging, I highly recommend it.

Prof. Padavic was incredible, I wish she could teach all my classes. You do have to show up to class as attendance is part of your grade. She assigns a few (1-3) PDF readings a week instead of using a textbook. If you read those & the lecture notes you will do just fine! Theres also a final paper but it was actually enjoyable to write. 11/10 prof!

Professor Padavic is very friendly and tries her best to make class interesting by having discussions about film clips, readings, and her students' personal experiences. There are only 3 tests and 1 paper. As long as you attend lectures and study her very useful handouts, you should get a good grade in the class.

She is so sweet and really prepares students well for class. She interacts well with students and really cares about each person in the class. Highly recommend taking this class if you have room in your schedule.

Shes awesome! Uses different mediums like movies, audio, poems, lectures, and discussions so class is never boring. A lot of content is relatable to life and common sense. Weekly readings arent THAT mandatory, but she expects you to be ready to talk about them in class. But I would read them because theyll be on the tests.

She gets a bit off topic during lectures, and the amount of movie clips she shows are a little annoying. Her tests are really easy if you go to class and pay attention. They're literally word for word from the notes she hands out and what she specifies in class. Attendance is mandatory, but worth it to go if you want an A. only 3 tests and 1 paper

Dr. Padavic is great! Loved her lectures. Attendance is mandatory because a lot of the info will be on test. Outside reading that is pretty much mandatory because you'll need for test as well. No textbook required. Grading is based on 3 test & a final paper.

Great class, Dr. Padavic really makes the lecture interesting. No textbooks, just handouts. Attendance is important. One big final paper that is 6-8 pages. Was told this class was going to be easy but was clearly wrong. Make sure to READ handouts and articles she post.

Padavic is amazing! By far one of my favorite teachers at FSU. Her high energy and love for the subject really makes this class worth while. She's such a sweet teacher and really cares about students doing well and learning the material. She also makes the class interesting and fun by showing film clips and encouraging discussion.

Dr. Padavic was amazing. She really tried to get to know all of her students individually. There is no textbook but she hands out outlines of notes to follow along with in lecture. Her tests are very doable and don't require lengthy amounts of study time. Overall, she was very approachable and friendly and is clearly passionate about teaching.

Definitely my favorite class this semester! She's a really nice lady and tries to actually get to know her students. The lectures were interesting and tests weren't bad as long as you study the outlines she gives each week. There are readings each week but they aren't really necessary as long as you go to class. Also there was no text book to buy!

Very easy teacher. But make sure to go to class because attendance does count. The notes are straight forward and the tests and the paper is super easy to do. Lectures are long and can be boring but the class for an easy A is worth it.

By far my favorite professor. She wants to know you and help you learn. But I will say you need to go to class to do well on the tests. She provides outlines each week which is where most of her exam questions come from. The other questions come from readings and videos watched during class. Recommend taking, 100%!

Loved this class! The material is not difficult. She does a great job of relating movie clips to course content. No HW and no textbook. Only exams and a paper. The paper was not difficult and the grading was very lenient. Some reading assignments. She likes to have discussions in class, so speak up!

This professor & her assistants are very nice and I loved the class. My only issue and its a big one is that there are only 3 exams and a paper and no extra credit so its very hard to get a good grade. On the exams the ave grade was a 75 and the med a 77 so that tells me I'm not alone. A few extra cr. quizzes would help & more clarity on the exams

Very helpful! She is very passionate about family problems and social change. She is the nicest teacher I've ever had. The family interview paper is actually fun too! NO TEXTBOOK :)

Comment:

Professor is very nice and the majority of the time clear and concise. The exams are hard and the wording is sometimes confusing. I study and review my notes a lot and I'll be lucky to get a high C. My only hope is to do well on my final paper. I couldn't do the fieldwork as I work two jobs.
