Most boring professor I've ever had. Literally put people to sleep within 5 minutes. If you're good at math this will be easy for you, just drink lots of caffeine and 5 hour energy. Still managed to get a 4.0 by some miracle.

The worst professor ever. He is also very sexist. Doesn't help at all. Even if you get the answer right, he'll mark it wrong and refuse to recheck it. Avoid at all costs!

He may just be the worst prof I have ever had, I got a 4.0 in 121 and am going to have to retake 122, that should say enough on it's own. He makes mistakes constantly making learning new material as hard as it can be. Review days are a joke as he doesn't believe in "relecturing" leaving you clueless as to what's on the test. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Do not take this class if you want a passing grade. I have taken over 100 credits and have never failed a class until this one. He doesn't answer questions, gives no study guides for anything other than "There will be 8 questions". It is a tough course but made nearly impossible with him as the professor.

He's not as bad as they say. I had to take this class more than once, and I finally passed it with him. He isn't too tough of a grader, he's easy enough to understand. He's just really boring and a little rude.

When you ask for clarification, he seems to not want to give it or not know how. I believe he should retire soon... he is just not very good at explaining.

There's something to be said about Oakland's math program -- not good. With that being said, Prof. Schochetman fits the bill perfectly. Was not helpful whatsoever, didn't respond to my emails, reads straight from the book and doesn't know what he's talking about half the time.

Took his pre calculus class and i wish i can get a refund here is why. His lectures are not clear and difficult. I read every single chapter in my text book twice and i still had a hard time understanding him. Even though your answer is correct in a different form it will be marked wrong, his way or the high way. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME.

Worst professor I've ever had, Very hard to pay attention to and not helpful. Does problems from the book at his pace without concise instruction. If you're able to select another teacher, I'm urging you to do so. Summer: Test 1 25% Test 2 25% Exam 40% Homework 10%.

Less than helpful in class. Does not teach, rather he just does examples from the book without teaching us how to do them. Does not tell you what you did wrong on tests and homework. Pretty much required to teach everything to yourself if you want the chance to pass. Would never take another class with him. Made the class 100x harder than needed.

On the plus side, he maintains order and quiet during lectures. Also sometimes he has a dry sense of humor. On the negative side, there's pretty much everything else: Unclear; monotone lecturer; absurd grader. He doesn't explain the concepts very much but does book examples instead. While working on the problems he gets confused and makes mistakes.

First few days I learned to keep quite in class, he just laughs at students who try to participate but give wrong answers. Half the time he's making mistakes so it's hard to follow. Doesn't explain anything just does problems. Be an independent learner. He's really just needs to retire pretty sure he teachers to see students fail and enjoys it.

He was obviously very interested in what he taught but was very dry, boring, and confusing. Asking questions in his class is a mistake, he typically confuses your words and doesn't understand what you're asking. Also if you blurt out the wrong answer in class he makes you feel like an idiot, completely discouraging class participation.

He's not particularly helpful, but the class is pretty easy, especially given that everyone assured me calc II was really hard. He spends the whole class period doing examples on the bored, except for extremely brief lectures to introduce new chapters. The tests are based off of easy homework problems for the most part. Very little graded homework.

Essentially reads the textbook and answers half of the textbook questions in class, assigns the other half as homework, and then comes up with random problems that are similar but use different notation for the exams. Exams are the only grade, expect 2 mid-terms and a final, no curve. Partial credit is rare.

Honestly, this is the way a college class should be. Many students enter straight from high school and expect their hand to be held, but that is simply not the case. When you ask for help, he offers it clearly and concisely, and that is all that is needed. Honestly, the disrespectful reviews on this page are simply appaling
