I was nearly "weeded" out at MTU 30+ years ago due to Intermediate Accounting. I was really struggling! I met with Dr. Jansen who told me of the "gentleman's C". He said if I attended class and tried my best he would give me a C and said I would go on to have a great career. He gave me the C and I've had a great career! Dr. Jansen A+++

I took Janson for both 230 & 240. He is a great guy and great professor! Is MORE than willing to answer your questions and help you out when needed. He slows down in class when we need help. Lets you out of class early. Open note exams & lots of opportunities to keep your grade up. Uses the book for homework and notes. One of my favorite professors

Daily assignments and homework are extremely easy. Tests are very difficult, even though you can use notes. Don't be concerned if you get a C on the tests, thankfully he curves them. Very monotone voice, very difficult to pay attention for an hour and 40 minutes.

Janson is a great professor! I feel like I really learned a lot in his Auditing class and will be well prepared for the CPA exam. He has a lot of great stories to tell and is one of the best professors I've ever had. There is a lot of homework,and make sure you go to class!

Cost accounting is a very hard class and very hard tests but graded on curve. Dr. Jansen knows his stuff and helps explain the material. Takes attendance and is part of your grade. You can use notes for the exams but they are still hard. I love Dr. Jansen had him for ACT240 as well he is a great professor.

Janson is a very smart and helpful professor. He explains accounting very well, because he has been in the 'real world' and offers help when needed. There are many group in-class activities that are easy to figure out. There are so many activities that doing poorly on the quizzes won't matter. Rough tests are curved nicely.

pretty good teacher, definitely knows his stuff, but sometimes has trouble explaining things. quizzes and tests are hard, but he makes up for it with a curve and a lot of easy in class assignments, plus he gives you the answers to homework problems before you have to turn them in.

Very good teacher. I support his policy of easy grading on an intro level class. Tests are a bit hard but the curves are enormous. Homework is easy and you can turn it in late (just not all on the last day!). He's a good guy and he gives many real world examples and has a lot of personal experience. He's also neat to talk to outside of class.

He is an awesome professor! He explains the material tgo were you can understand it. He will also give you other examples if it didn't make sense the first time. You have a ton of work to do in this class but it only helps you to understand the information. I look foward to taking him for auditing

Awesome professor! He grades on an incredible curve, so you can basically bomb the exams and still manage to get in the B range at the end of the semester. Just go to class and do the work.
